Emilio's Tapas Lincoln Park: User Reviews
Emilio's Tapas Lincoln Park

I went to Emilio's Lincoln Park a few weeks ago with a large group of family and friends.
Looking for a little something different, I remembered Emilio's, a fixture of the neighborhood which I hadn't been to in some time. Loved the music and it was nice to sit in open air by the wall of windows. We had a wonderful dinner experiance. We let our waitress just order her favorite tapas (the bacon wrapped dates was one of my favorites) along with the seafood paellea. We had sangria which was refreshing and not too sweet and finished the night with some deserts including the chocolate crepe. We really enjoyed it. You should check 'em out.

I cannot believe that the Sunday brunch and Saturday/Sunday breakfast have not been discovered yet. The Spanish brunch, for only $16, is a great deal. Delicious and unusual dishes served with excellent egg or pancake/waffle selections, all very interesting and well presented by attentive servers. And the egg and pancake dishes are available Saturday and Sunday at about $7 or $8 each, which is better food at better prices than, for example, Orange accross the street. And you don't have to wait in line. Folks, you really need to try this place.

I have been to this restaurant three times, once which was for someone's birthday and there is only one thing that is consistent: the service is horrible...I would bet to say the worst in the city. Someone needs to contact management and inform them before they lost all of their business.
The food as a whole is pretty good, if not slightly expensive. Although the mood is usually festive, I cannot stomach spending any more money at this place. For some reason, the staff refuses to accept the fact that people expect to be properly served. I strongly suggest that if you are contemplating going here, save yourself a lot of grief and anger and try out some of the many other options that our great city has to offer.

I dined here tonight with a group of 10. I think the staff here knew they would get 18% gratuity no matter what, so we were completely ignored. At one point we were asked if we wanted dessert and we still had not gotten half of our order; then, after we reminded her, she brought us out cold tapas. The service was horrible. The food and drink were overpriced. If you have patience and 3 hours to kill for dinner, you might consider checkng it out.
Report This ReviewI think that Emilio's is really good tapas. There are some things on the menu that are average but there are items, like the garlic potatoes that are amazing. The Sangria is perfect and certain items are unbelievable. Great place...
Report This ReviewOur first time there with another couple this weekend and we had a really nice time. I have never had Tapas before so can't really compare like some of the other reviewers have. We arrived on a Sat. night about 6p and the place was quiet. We had drinks at the bar - Rasberry Sangria that was great and then moved to a table by the windows. Waiter was very helpful in making selections and we stayed close to 2 hours. Food was delicious, presentation was wonderful and the waiter was always checking back to make sure we were ok. All in all, a really nice evening. Considering Lincoln Park--price was what I expected. I would go back. Only downside, the later it got into the evening, the louder and fuller the restaurant became. At the end, 8:45p, it was very hard to have any conversation at our table without readling lips.
Report This ReviewWe were at Emilio's on a Friday night, and it was surprisingly busy with several birthday parties. Unfortunately, the busy restaurant is not indicative of its quality. First of all, any of its decent hot tapas are 8 or 9 dollars. We ordered a seafood tapas, which was suppose to include shrimp. No shrimp found in our dish. We ordered their paella, which was suppose to come with chicken. No chicken. When I asked my server about the chicken, he replied that its cut into small pieces so that's why I can't see it. I'm paying 13.95 per person for paella and I can't see my chicken?
Definitely avoid Emilio's on Fullerton. Try Cafe Iberico at Chicago at LaSalle.
Report This ReviewThe place is a fake. The sangria is watery and overprice. The food is bland and the portions to small.
If you want a real spanish restaurant, try Iberico or 1492 Tapas.
I am embarrassed to say that I dined here with fiends on my recommendation. The restaurant was fairly empty and yet the service was just about the worst I've had in any restuarant anywhere. The food was good but some even came after the bill! Cross this one off your list.
