This suburban restaurant has become a destination spot for those looking for a truly southern, home-style meal. Tucked away in the Flossmoor Commons Shopping Mall, Flavor offers classic Creole dishes and fusion dishes at decent prices. Though not the largest in size, Flavor is always bustling with patrons who come for the cuisine, stay for the music (jazz every Thursday and Friday), and are often spotted chatting with owner Rochelle Kemp. With everything on the menu made from scratch, standout dishes include the shrimp and grits, pecan-encrusted chicken, jambalaya and salmon croquettes.
