I'm sure Tango Sur is good, but I can't imagine how it could beat this place. Very open air, very high ceilings greet you as you walk in. No outdoor seating (bummer), though. Noise factor is good. Mojitos were outstanding, 8 bucks each. Glasses of house Chardonnay, 6 bucks. Appetizers of tamales were inventively flavored and good. The parillada of chicken, various beef cuts, sausage . . . it could not have been better. Am salivating now just thinking about how it was flavored, seasoned and cooked. Just the freakin' 24 hour marinated chicken was outstanding. The side of rice'n'beans with Peruvian spicing was excellent. Everything was reasonably priced. Overall, a great international experience. Highly recommended.

We were a group of about 20 or so on a Saturday night. Must of us have visited Machu Picchu in the past so we had a reunion at Rio's. Finally I got to re-live my affair with the Pisco Sour not only that, they had Cuzquena beer !!! and wines from Peru. They had so many items we wanted to try everything, but we decided to ask our server to choose our appetizers and entrees, he and the Chef suggested some delicious items we let them shoot away, OH MY GOD it was like being in Peru the ambiance, the traditional food. We couldn't of made a better choice that night. The Chef came out and checked on our table this very nice older lady, her English was poor but her food was amazing ! Strongly recommend this place. Just like being in Peru even the staff, most of them are authentic Peruvians : )

Well, after being a fan of Rinconcito for so many years I was hesitantant of trying out their new site which merged with Rio's (same owner) I was told to go a place called ay ay picante, HUGE mistake ! service was horrific the food was luke warm and me being Peruvian and living and working in Chicago for many years was embarrased to take my friends there. The quality of the service and food put together was at best mediocre. So I went where I should of gone in the first place RIO'S / RINCONCITO. My god, a place like this makes me feel again proud of my peruvian cuisine service was outstanding. Great South American wines and varieties of Peruvian Pisco, very ,very good food try everything you cant go wrong, the place is beautiful and the price even cheaper then the other peruvian restaurants. I take my clients there for dinner and they get mesmorise by the peruvian experience they encounter. RIO'S keep up the great job. I read the past reviews, some people exagerate over small things. All I know in my visits comparing to the other South American restaurants dont have anything on Rinconcito's new home at Rio's and that is a FACT.

I was at Rios on Saturday with a party of 9. The service was horrible. We waited over 30 minutes for just a four drinks, and worst yet, when the server finally brought them over, one was missing. Our waiter kept forgetting about us. It took over an hour to get appetizers and another hour to get our entrees! We literally had to flag down our waiter to get any service... the food was tasty, but nothing to cheer over. The ambiance was wonderful, great music, very comfortable... but that would be all we enjoyed... dinning here is a waste of time and money.... nice place for a couple of drinks and good music-- thats it!!

I find this place very festive, food is very similar to the other peruvian restaurants we had visited, perhaps a little overprice!!! dishes are very tasty, but what I love the most is the bar, great looking place!!
Great for groups, the aji de gallina is a must try.... creamy.hmmm

I been to Rios before and as I said in a past review I willl return. And that I did to see if I can match the good experience that encountered before. To say, I had a great server that made the entire menu seem delicious and wanted to try everything. Well since he was so knowledable, professional and friendly, I put myself and my party of four at his hands for him to order from traditional cocktails , appetizers ( not too much, but enough to share ) Entrees and wine pairing for our meals. IT WAS GREAT. From beginning to end
althought the place was very crowded he handled like a pro. Rio's you made my returned worth every $ and time. My friends loved it and so did I . Thanks . Strongly recomend it... Can't remember the server name but I'm sure it was Tony. P.S. make resevartions

This place is so romantic, according to my girlfriend . My girlfriend and I have recently moved to Chicago from Michigan. It was great for us to find Rios. We came there on a Saturday in the evening and we were seated immediately and the food came pretty quickly. The food was great and the ambiance was even better. I gained major cool points that evening for being romantic.

It is so difficult sometimes to trek all the way down town for ambiance that is sophicated and cozy. When you go downtown you have to either where a dress and stilettos on the train or drive your car and pay ridiculous fares to park or drive in circle until you find something halfway legal. I had a great dining experience at Rios D' Sudamerica. The ambiance resembled any downtown fine dinning restaurant and the servers were attentive and not mean or snuddy. The prices were resonbale and the food was great but most important was that I didn't have a task to park and get into Rio's and get comfortable and enjoy my char-grilled ribeye and plenty plenty cocktails. This place is a diamond in the rough.
