I'm trying to figure out which restaurant the last 4 reviewers were at. It wasn't Pier 5736. I have never had the experiences they described nor have I seen anyone else have the experiences they describe. My husband and I go to Pier on a regular basis (about once a week). We were just there on Sunday. The fish is fresh, the portions are a good size, and the staff is always cordial. The owner, Peter McCarthy, will come out of the kitchen, go to every table and ask what the patrons think of the food. He really works hard to make sure his customers are happy. I intend to continue patronizing this restaurant knowing that I'll always get a good meal at a good price served to me by good people.

Lobster was very small - about two bites. My boyfriend's sandwich was supposed to be served on garlic bread. The bread had no garlic and looked like it was thrown on the grill and burned with black grill marks. I had chicken entree and it was the smallest piece of chicken I've ever been served. Not worth the drive or the price. Go somewhere else. One waitress was very rude but another was very nice.

I had the marinated shrimp with lime it was good. you have to fix your heating system, heaters on the tables are not very attractive. Your dessert menu you have to fix. i had the carrot cake and it looked like it was store bought and dry. for the price you should not even serve it. i would not recommend to my friends. Hire a dessert chef.

On the advise of "Check Please" my wife and I gave this place a shot. The service was poor and our waiter was obviously over-matched. I have had better shrimp at Long John Silvers. If you want poor service, below average food at downtown prices, give Pier 5736 a try.

A dumpy place. Basically a bar with a few tables. A lot of neighborhood people eating the cheap specials and watching 'the game'. Food is just average, appetizers are a joke. Would not go back.

Visited Pier 5736 for the first time last night as a result of seeing it reviewing on Check Please. Go on the nights when there are specials. The value of the $25 fixed price meal is fabulous. I dined a heathy portion of calamari, linguini with crab & caviar and a chocolate mousse bombe for dessert. Add $10 and you get three generous glasses of wine. While the staff was young, they were professional and attentive. The restaurant itself was cozy and warm. All in all, an excellent dinner experience.
