McCormick & Schmick's

- Price range: $$$ ($16-$25)
A fourth Chicago-area outpost of the Oregon-based seafood chain. McCormick prides itself on fresh fish; the menu offers over 30 choices with a variety of preparations. Menus change daily, but lunch offerings might include choices like tilapia with cashews and Jamaican rum butter sauce or deep-fried Atlantic salmon cakes with Granny Smith apples and leeks. Blue marlin with Swiss chard and baked cod with lemon butter are sample dinner selections. Don't like fish? The menu also offers meaty choices like a pork chop with grilled peaches. The masculine decor is similar to the Gold Coast address with stained glass accents and plenty of dark wood, and there's also an outdoor patio overlooking a pond, equipped with an open fireplace. And don't miss the affordable happy hour menu in the bar.
