Manifesting the cinematic aspirations of Forrest Gump in the movie of the same name, the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is a family-focused seafood restaurant jam-packed with manufactured character. The dining room has the feel of a southern shrimp shack, right down to the metal pails on the table (for holding rolls of paper towels) and the faded, chipped paint on the walls. Another busy addition to Navy Pier's restaurant options, Bubba Gump also sports the requisite souvenir shop, which you have to pass through to get to the dining room. The room is full of "Forrest Gump" soundtrack music (zydeco, old rock 'n' roll). The restaurant donates a portion of each sale to the Sea Turtle Preservation effort.
