I almost don't want to write a review for this place because it's so special I don't want it being over-run. However, it's the best little breakfast place ever. The food is super good, the prices are amazingly fare and the atmosphere is like home. I love it.

This is a nice place to stop for breakfast/bunch if you are in the Andersonville area. The Swedish pancakes are great and reasonably priced ($4), but portions of some items seem small. The pancakes, for example don't come with any sides and the serving size is only two thin, crape-like pancakes. Great for me, but for a bigger eater you will definitely want to order sides.
I enjoyed the coffee and I heard other patrons mention that they liked it as well.
Breakfast items were still being surved around 1:30 pm on a Sat., so that's a plus.
My favorite breakfast spot. Consistently good food and the prices can't be beat (even though they are cash only). Small place, so expect to wait some time unless you are into sitting at the counter during late mornings especially.
Report This ReviewNice little hole-in-the-wall spot. Great food, not too spendy, a nice place to sit and have Swedish fare without going to a chain restaurant. I'll take my parents there next time we're all in town.
Report This ReviewStop in for a good quick breakfast, small place but chances are you'll get in a lot quicker than waiting in Line at Ann Sathers.
Try the Swedish pancakes, and if you like bacon, you'll love their salt pork. Coffee unfortunately is mediocre as well as juices.
Highly disappointing, particularly when compared to the much better Tre Kronor. I asked what the difference was between the "American" and "Viking" french toast, and was told that the latter was thicker. Given how thin the "Viking" toast came out to be, I'd hate to see how wafer-thin the "American" version is. When I pointed this out to my server, she just rolled her eyes. Plus, the herring is bland and lifeless. Skip Svea and go across the street to Ann Sathers.
Report This ReviewThe food is good-but the hash browns are the best. Definitely overpriced and only accept cash. The swedish pancakes are thick and chewy-but I like them.
Report This ReviewThis is a great place for unpretenious, hearty brunch dining. The service is friendly, efficient, and experienced. The grandma's-kitchen atmosphere is a relative breath of fresh air (i.e., differientiates it from most city dining) although some might consider it a bit drab. The Swedish pancakes with lingonberry sauce are amazing.
