Perry's Deli: User Reviews
Perry's Deli
174 N. Franklin St. - Chicago312-372-7557
The quality of the food as well as the condition of the dining area has fallen off since Perry's departure. Still, given the limited deli options in the loop, I'll still occasionally go.

Seems like this place has slipped overall since new management took over. The bacon on my KO Club were crushed bits instead of nice strips and the cashier was surly and shorted me $1.50 in change. Also, the "no cellphone siren" is getting old and pretty annoying. Just not the same like when orignal Perry shouted out triva and gave out shakes to winners. Just get a hot pastrami to go and you'll be fine.

Perry's is the kind of place you wish you had near you all the time. It's the best corned beef sandwiches I've ever had. They are definitely 2 meal sandwiches. Just ask to have half wrapped. Perry's Favorite is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Corned Beef piled as high as one could ever hope, jack cheese, cole slaw, russian dressing spread of each side of bread and of course a nice BIG piece of rye. To me that is such a big thing. A nice sized piece of bread that allows me to eat the sandwich with my hands instead of forking most of the corned beef. That is my issue with Manny's. Yeah it's classic, but the bread is so tiny sometimes. Perry isn't going to stick you with an end piece of a loaf, you know. Perry doesn't work there anymore, but the guy behind the counter is the man. Super nice despite what you might think as he hustles you down the line with fast firing questions. Be ready with your order before you get to him or "NO SOUP FOR YOU." Great place though. One of the best in the city. A good little tip is to go after 1pm. They close at 2:30pm and the later you go, the better. The line can reach out the door during the lunch rush. Great stuff though. Amazing food.
May all your meals be delicious.

Great food for good value. If you like thin sliced, piled high, NY style corn beef, pastrami, ec., this is the best deli in Chicago. Single sandwich easily feeds two. Best for take out due to Perry's crazy mobile phone policy which sets off a very loud and annoying alarm any time someone uses their mobile phone in the restaurant. Alarm went off 4 separate times last visit.

The sandwiches are over-rated. The only reason I went more than once was that it's walking distance from my office. After receiving such HORRIBLE service, I will NEVER go again (I'd rather walk the extra distance).
Report This ReviewAwesome lunch spot for those cravings for a NY Kosher style deli. TRY THE PASTRAMI REUBEN OR CORNED BEEF REUBEN, or a mix of the two which I favor. Make sure to ask for Swiss cheese, not Jack. The best in town!
Report This ReviewFavorite lunch spot in the loop! The sandwiches at Perry's are high quality, and the portions are generous. While the corned beef on rye is clearly my favorite, I highly recommend Ernest's Extacy (turkey salad, bacon, cheese, cole slaw, and russian on rye). Enjoy!
Report This ReviewNo doubt about it, the best in the city! Dont tell my cardiologist! Who's the private dick who's a hit with all the chicks?
Report This ReviewYum YUM! Great big corned beef sandwich and very good too. The cole slaw is the best.
Report This ReviewAs Tiny Elvis would say, that sandwich is HUGE. It's the biggest sandwich I've ever seen. And real good too.
