First time at a Russian restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. Wide selection of dishes and appetizers, I wanted to try them all! Food was great and service the same. Give it a shot.

I have worked in the restaurant business in Chicago for more than 20 years, I have dined at or worked at most of the best restaurants in this city. Let me tell you this place blew me away. For about ten years I have intended on going to this restaurant. What took me so long? The food was incredible, I had the stuffed cabage with the carrot salad. The server was top notch (where was he when I was hiring staff). The atmosphere is beautiful. Even the bus boy deserves recognition. Did I mention that the food was incredible. This is a must stop if you are anywhere within 100 miles. Tomorrow I am having tea sevice there, I am sure I will not be disappointed. I must say the best restaurant in the city.

I got the Stuffed Eggplant here and it was awesome! I also really liked the homey atmosphere. The wait staff is super nice and the bread they serve is also delicious. Best food I have had in awhile.

Skip Tea Service, Go for Dinner

Здравтвуйте! I really love this restaurant, and go many times during the year. I am half-Russian by decent, and I grew up eating Russian cuisine. I would definitely reccommend this restaurant. The food is great, the environment is cozy but classy, and the service is tops. Мы с хеной (my wife and I) tried to go there for the afternoon tea service once. It did not turn out well, and we had a poor experience with the server. However, upon writing the management, we received a high-amount gift certificate and a personal invitation from the ower. We have never had anything less than a great experience at dinner! Great location if you are visiting the loop as well. If you are not from Chicago, or have never had eastern-european food -- you should definitely go, you can't go wrong!

The food was great. The Vodka sampler was wonderfully suggested from our server. The tea was fabulous.

We decided to try a new place and after a drawing from a hat... RussianTeaTime was it! The cliffs notes version of our experience was that the food was really good and when we didn't know what to choose... our waitress (Kaitia?) recommended some great items off the menu. Probably the best bang for your buck was the RussianTeaTime Platter for 2. A perfest compliment to the meal was the Russian House Vodka Flights. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Afterwards we relaxed to some good conversation and some quality Russian Black Tea. Never had this before but can only say..WOW.

Overall...I would recommend this place to everyone.

Na Zdorovie!!!!!

They advertise Sunday afternoon tea on a marquee in front, and because I'd had a good experience there before I took my daughter and was very disappointed. I had been there with friends years ago and at that time thought it was one of the best places in Chicago for High Tea. But this time the finger sandwiches were average at best, and almost a bit stale. Some of the pastries were ok, but the scones were nothing like what I remembered. During my previous visit we all thought they were close to the best we'd had, and this time they were very average. At least the tea was good.

Very disappointing. The dining room was freezing and our request to be moved away from the door was not handled tactfully. Had to ask for more water. Food was good, but not outstanding.

I was surprised that one reviewer didn't like the tea. That was actually my favorite part of the meal. I believe they blend it themselves, and it's some of the best tea I've had. We found the waitstaff to be very kind - they squeezed my boyfriend and me into a tiny table at the last minute on a blustery day, even though the restaurant was very crowded.
