We all love to hate on Schaumburg for it's corporate culture and cookie-cutter chain restaurants on every corner. But let's face it: It's ridiculous high density of spots to shop, snack and imbibe is insanely impressive. Here's a few of our favorites -- the best of the chains and a few indies -- The Cheesecake Factory not included.

Heat Nightclub
616 E. Golf Road - SchaumburgEveryone in Schaumburg has an opinion about The Bamboo Room: They either loved it or they hated it. The entire space has been gutted -- goodbye tiki tchotchkes -- and revamped to make way for new nightclub Heat.
John Barleycorn
1100 American Lane - SchaumburgThis suburban outpost of John Barleycorn can only be described as huge.
Entourage on American Lane
1301 American Lane - SchaumburgThis spot, across from Woodfield Mall, serves "American classic cuisine" like oversized burgers, seafood, and steaks.
L'Olivo
1602 E. Algonquin Road - SchaumburgPastas and a variety of Italian specialties fill the bill of fare at this suburban eatery.
Houlihan's
1901 E. Golf Rd. - SchaumburgYes, it's officially a chain, but we love the way Houlihan's has revamped its look and menu. The cocktails and contemporary American eats are worth a second look.
Todai Chicago
5 Woodfield Mall - SchaumburgSushi lovers and monstrous appetites be warned--this 160-foot all-you-can-eat sushi/Japanese buffet takes no prisoners. It features 40 types of sushi, plus hot dishes, desserts and fruit. Options include snow crab legs, scallops, sashimi and green tea cheesecake.
Bonefish Grill
180 S. Roselle Rd. - SchaumburgThe menu here features a rotating selection of grilled fresh fish choices (like rainbow trout, red snapper an ahi tuna); select your fish and then pick a sauce (such as warm mango salsa or lemon butter).
Greek Village Taverna
795 E. Golf Road - SchaumburgMade-from-scratch Greek favorites come from the kitchen to the table at this Schaumburg taverna.
Alumni Club
871 E. Algonquin Rd. - SchaumburgA sports haven with basketball and volleyball courts and more that 50 TVs for those who would rather just watch.
StoneWood Ale House
601 Mall Dr. - SchaumburgComfort foods get menu play at this spot, with choices like pot roast and meatloaf in addition to burgers, steaks and salads.
Davis Street Fishmarket
1383 Meacham Road - SchaumburgThe new Davis Street Fishmarket distinguishes itself from the Evanston original with a more artsy feel and a slighty different menu.
Rosebud Old World Italian of Schaumburg
