Great Romanian food you have to try

Little Bucharest has great food everyone should try. It's a neighborhood spot for us, but the food is way above your typical "let's go grab a bite" place to eat. It's just as friendly and welcoming as can be and beautifully decorated too.

We took the in-laws there while they were in town. We had sausage stuffed chicken thigh, white fish, 4 cheese flat bread and steak. All the dishes were perfectly done and the service was excellent. Sausage at this place is out of this world spicy good. Mom & Dad are still raving about it. It was a great atmosphere to catch up and talk too.

When you go, make sure you get a hose full of the "Romanian Holy Water" after the meal. I'm not sure what this liquor was, but it was smooth and packed a great punch. If this is how Romanians party, sign me up!

This place is so great! My boyfriend lives close so this is a spot we love to frequent. The new menu is great and the food is amazing! I love how every time I eat here the owner always comes over to make sure that everything is OK. It's always a great experience when eating here.

Tasty Rumanian fare...

Having never been to the Avondale neighborhood for dinner, we were pleased to find Little Bucharest Bistro as a dining option. Though this was their first week of operation at this location, it was clear that their Rumanian roots run deep. Proprietor Branko greeted us warmly and checked in often to see how we were doing. We enjoyed a beet salad with onions, pickled corn and capers as a starter. The star of the show for me was the excellent goulash: tender, tasty beef in a divine paprika sauce over garlic mashed potatoes. My companion’s bacon crusted whitefish over green beans was tasty. Dessert was another standout: a delicious, fresh, house-made apple walnut strudel with caramel sauce. So much comfort! There were a couple of service delays, probably to be expected with new staff in a new setting. I look forward to returning to sample some of the other promising Rumanian dishes...

Great food--nice mix on the menu of traditional Romanian and American. The service is fantastic! Reasonably priced with a nice outdoor seating area. We will definitely go back.
