Bad service? Try not being so mean to the staff!

I don't know why anyone would complain about the service. I have been to G & G at least a dozen times and they always have a smile and treat me great. This is not a full service restaurant, I think some people might be confused at that. Fantastic sandwiches (try the turkey BLT!). Little pricey for a "deli" type joint, but it is well worth it. If you are swamped on time, I would suggest calling your order in ahead of time.

I've had it with this place! The service is so appalling that I can no longer justify going in there. You have to be a masochist to enjoy buying your food from here.

Gets only 1 star because of the staff. They put the salad bar behind the counter and you have to ask for every ingredient as they get more and more annoyed with everything you ask for. whats up with that? Food is amazing-- the ruben is stupendous but good luck asking for it-- or getting rung up for that matter!

Couldn't agree more with the reviewers who said the service here is the worst. It really is. These people have serious 'tude. They consistently make you feel like you're asking a huge favor to have a sandwich made. Good luck trying to order online. Went to pickup an online order and was told they don't check the computer and to only call-in orders. what!? regardless, these people have a penchant for trying to make the customers feel stupid. and to be in this business...what are they thinking? have to wonder if the owner is included among this mean-spirited pack. it's too bad because the food really is tasty...but one would still want to go elsewhere than deal with the little devils at Godless Grocer.

I am a frequent customer of the Goddess and Grocer and each and everytime I grow to love it more. The food is amazing and I have yet to eat something I have not loved. The staff is always pleasant and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone and it is well worth the money. Their baskets are amazing. I donated one this summer for an auction to raise money for cancer research and the basket helped to raise over $300 dollars. I love this place.

we live so close to this place and we really want to love it... however, i don't care how good the food is - this place drives me NUTS. why? the service is spotty at best, the wait is absolutely ridiculous (EVEN when you call ahead), and they always make a mistake when we place an order for delivery. we're done with this place. if enduring horrid service, long waits and repeated erroneous deliveries is up your alley- GO FOR IT!! it's all yours.

I think everyone on this review list that is upset with the wait needs to just calm down. If you were to order a made to order sandwich anywhere, there would be a wait involved.
G&G is a great Bucktown spot. Their food is always wonderful and the selection of options are great. They always serve the freshest ingredients you can find. I am a loyal customer.

The people that work there are hit or miss. Sometimes you get good service, often times you don't. The food is usually excellent and if you have the time and money, a good way to spend it--better than most fast food options! The staff needs to lighten up--they are often grouchy!

Service is the worst I've ever experienced. I given them several chances and not only do they continue to disappoint, they seem annoyed that they have to make your sandwich. For the price, they need to cheer up & speed up!
