Swirlz Cupcakes: User Reviews

As I have many times in the past, I ordered cupcakes for my New Year's party from Swirlz. And, as usual, I was not disappointed. I ordered an assortment of flavors, and the surprise of the day was AMAZING! It was a chocolate cake filled with a champagne cream, a layer of creamy chocolate ganache, and then a milk chocolate buttercream swirl. OH MY! I wish I had ordered more of that flavor! I'd like to see anybody try to top that cupcake...good luck because it's just not possible. The other flavors were, of course, incredible, but man I wish I had a champagne cupcake right now. Ok...control myself...haha. My guests who had not been to Swirlz before thought that I had made them! I wish I had that kind of baking talent! My hat's off to the chef and the bakers who made such a delicious, and, not to mention, beautiful, treat! I can't wait to see what Swirlz has in store for us next! Needless to say, I think my party was a success. Thanks, Swirlz. :)

With just the right amount of everything, these cupcakes are great! Infact, i just picked up another box! Not much can compare up to these cupcakes, so i won't try. Just great!

The cupcakes are mouth-watering! Anytime i want to treat myself, this is FIRST and ONLY place on my list. There staff is very up-beat! Anyone that has a sweet tooth, i 100% recommend this place to everyone!

I had my first swirlz last week.

Yummy! The frosting was light and the cake had a good texture... and of course the flavor was excellent. Not too sweet.

As compared to Mollies you have my vote. Mollies is more like birthday cake: very sweet, too much frosting and the cake too soft.

Mollies seems like it would appeal more to kids where swirlz is for those over 10. (I'm over 10)

I'll be back as soon as the weather gets above the single digits.

Seriously, isn't the frosting the best part? Isn't that why you go out and get a cupcake for in the first place? So if you crave that taste from your youth .... this is NOT the cupcake for you. The frosting here is way too wimpy for cupcakes. It may be suitable for a "finer" desert or cake, but NOT FOR A CUPCAKE!! Sweet Mandy B's and Sweet Occasions are a much better choice if you're wanting a kiddie flashback.

Seriously, these cupcakes are divine. The best cupcake I've ever tasted and truly a little piece of heaven. I had one of the S'mores cupcakes. Marshmellow frosting that just melted in my mouth with generous chunks of chocolate on top. And the cupcake itself.....tasted just like a fluffy graham cracker. I think I'll go to sleep tonight with images of fluffy S'mores cupcakes swirling in my head. (No pun intended). I can't wait to try a vanilla cupcake....or wait, a tiramisu...or possibly a malted milkshake. So many choices...Swirlz cupcakes really do make me happy....

I really don't understand some of the other reviews on this site because these cupcakes are truly outstanding! I am a pastry chef in the city and there are no other cupcakes that even compare!!! I guess some of the other reviews are use to eating flavorless, overly sweet boxed cakes and don't know what true cake tastes like. They have a unique selection everyday and the staff are truly wonderful and extremely helpful. I also attended a wedding this past weekend that had Swirlz cupcakes as the wedding cake and people were raving!! I really think everyone should try this sweet little bit of heaven in Lincoln Park and experience them for yourself!

There's no other place like it in Chicago. The best cupcakes for the kid in all of us! Thank you to Swirlz Cupcakes' owners for such a fantabulous idea! Yum!
