Homesick Detroit-area natives will be happy to know that this kosher-style deli is opening a River North outpost this October. (The original Steve's Deli has been serving up chopped chicken liver, pastrami, beef brisket and more in suburban Bloomfield Hills, Mich., since 1994.)
Look for a full-service restaurant plus a grab-and-go area stocked with bestsellers such as egg-white salad and a lineup of diet-friendly fare. Deli classics on offer include matzo ball soup, stuffed cabbage, gefilte fish, fried kreplach and blintzes, as well as made-to-order salads, overstuffed deli sandwiches and entrees such as roast turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce. They're also opening a retail area stocked with gourmet groceries and more.
