Holy Cow D you have out done yourself! The owner of this chic bakery/cafe has mastered the pumpkin loaf. I just had a piece of pumpkin loaf and it was just amazing. Light and not an over powering pumpkin flavor like other bakery. Anyone in that area needs to go and get a piece with a cup of their coffee and enjoy the ambiance of this amazing place. If pumpkin is not your think just peruse their pastery case and I am sure you will find something to enjoy! Awesome job D!

I went to an event that served a cake by this bakery. It looked a whole lot better than it tasted. Pretty is nice, but...

I am always looking for somewhere to get a cup of coffee and chat, and this is an excellent place. The desserts we got were very, very good - high quality ingredients, fresh, and a great blend of flavors in each one. The coffee was good and very drinkable - tasted just brewed, and is made from good beans (i.e. doesn't taste watery, bitter, or ashy). The americano had a very mild espresso taste - it wasn't that it's watered down, it's just not strong espresso. Service was prompt and friendly. The decor is warm and clean with room to move around the tables.

I had a friend that was getting married and she wanted a cake from Ace of Cakes, featured on TLC. Unfortunately they would not drive the cake out to the Chicago area. When I recomended La Petite Sweet to a friend she was thrilled that someone out here could do just as good as Duff. The grooms cake was fantastic, and the details were fenominal. They actually made a track for the car to sit on with a light bar and everything. Guests at the wedding just thought it was a model that someone made, and they had to be told that it was a cake.
The treats that Diane makes are just spectacular. I have had almost everything that they offer and have never been disappointed. It has always been the opposite and she wows me with her talent. When my father hears that I am going down by the bakery and I get puppy dog eyes with a drooling face asking if I can bring him home some of her wonderful home-made biscotti. It's just delicious!!!!
One day I will get married and I can not wait to sit down in her georgeous bakery and discuss the fantastic cake that she will create for my big day. I would not trust anyone else with my special cake for my big day.

I am familiar with La Petite Sweet from its custom cakes & dessert days (www.lapetitesweet.com). I had used them in the past for sending delicious holiday gifts to friends & family out of town with unquestionable success. I have also seen their displays of custom wedding cakes, groom’s cakes, and party treats, and am always awe struck by their level of creativity and skill.
However, I am still a firm believer that the #1 selling point of LaPetite Sweet are their signature fresh baked Biscotti. Being Italian myself, and even ordering Biscotti in Italy, I would easily challenge that La Petite’s Biscotti are the best tasting Biscotti in the world. There are various choice options including my personal favorite, the classic chocolate, as well as more atypical options including a the zesty ginger lemon which was just being brought out of the oven the last time I was there.
The new location is ideal! The classic, yet warm environment gives a impression of a welcoming European charm. Being located across from a quaint (and incredibly knowledgeable) wine shop, adds to it appeal. I can not think of a better way to spend the evening then a nice glass of wine and a special treat from La Petite.
