I really enjoyed Kafein! I enjoyed the food and service and coffee! The prices are fairly cheap and its a small shop with a homey kind of feeling.

A lot of my friends had talked about Kafein, so I was in Evanston, and I was amazed. It was filled with lively people, now music, yet there was no stupid attitude. The sandwiches, espresso and dessert were all mighty tasty. I didn't think I would find a place this good in Evanston.

The chicken salad was horrible and admittedly so by the staff who were very unapologetic. "Sorry we scraped the bottom of the barrel for ya...it sucks and we know it" was the response received when we inquired why the chicken salad had no chicken. Its loud and they are also scraping the bottom of the barrel with their music selection. Coffee was cold before it was even served (late at that).

This is honestly one of the coolest places, its got a great vibe, its small and personal, the desserts are great, and the coffee is superb!

Stumbled onto this joint accidentally after a late, late movie. The movie sucked, but the apple pie ala mode was quite good, maybe a bit too much on the 'ala mode' though. Our waiter was a bit of a space-cadet, but a good vibe overall.

I just got back from this late-night cafe, and it is great! The service isn't too hot, but the melts and shakes are great. Some loud music from a jukebox, but other than that it's very nice.
