Frances' Restaurant and Delicatessen

Neighborhood: Lincoln Park
2552 N. Clark St.

Chicago, IL 60614
773-248-4580
Price range: $ (Under $9)

Since 1938 Frances' has been satisfying deli lovers with omelets, soup, huge sandwiches and milkshakes becoming Lincoln Park's oldest deli. During the week the customers are a quieter group, while on weekends the restaurant bustles with people of all ages, though primarily young, blue-jeaned professionals from Lincoln Park. On Sunday prepare for a wait, as the brunch crowd segues into the lunch crowd, which segues into the dinner crowd. For a classic Frances' meal try a #11 sandwich (roast turkey breast, Muenster cheese and honey mustard on grilled challah bread), chopped liver, matzoh ball soup, or one of Frances' seven different kinds of root beer. On your way out buy some Swedish fish, red hots, or one of the giant chocolate chip cookies sitting in a big glass jar by the register.

"OKAY"

By whipjess from Lincoln Park, July 27, 2009

Service is horrible. But the food is excellent. If you dont mind waiting 30min for wait staff to take your drink order, this place is fine.
