We went to Fleming's for the 3 course prix fixe and were very pleasantly surprised. Steaks were decent, one was perfect, one was a tad undercooked and a little smaller. Appetizers, sides and especially desert were excellent as was the wine selction. I would go back and try the regular menu. Our server was very attentive and pleasant.

Again another random restaurant run my girlfriend and I ended up at Flemings after a long day. We entered and we were seated quickly and our server was attentive and outstanding. She was able to make suggestions and answer all of our questions. She made all the specials sound amazing and we had a tough time choosing. Although it is a steakhouse my girlfriend isn't big on large slabs of meat - she had the petite filet which was good. And even though I am a lover or steak I was in the mood for something different that evening and ended up ordering a lamb shank that I thought was excellent. Overall I would return to test out the steaks to compare with Chicago's other fine steakhouses but my first exp. was good enough to make me come back for more.

We ate @ Fleming's on Saturday. The place was very busy when we got there (downstairs lounge is beautiful), but we were seated right away. The dining room is upstairs and was just as impressive as the downstairs bar. Everything was incredible from the moment we sat down from the great calamari appetizer, the perfect wedge and sumblimely garlicy caesar salad to the impressive filet and "49 Hour" ribeye (the Chef's special), all the way through the amazing chocolate lava cake! Our server was very attentive and very friendly. We never waited for anything.
We each built a wine flight of three small glasses, which were served hanging on their "Wine Vine" (that's what the server told us these were called).
This was a great dining experience from start to finish.
We will definitely be back.
Oh and have the Fleming's Potatoes, they are absolutely to die for!!
We have been regulars at Gibson's, S&W and Joe's, but none of them have hit the mark like this meal. Kudo's!
This place has great: bread, sides, wine, martinis, and desserts. However, since this is a steakhouse I would have expected them to cook decent lamb chops, however, that was not the case. My lamb chops which should have been medium-well were completely overcooked. I also think for what they're charging the food should be better.
Report This ReviewFleming's in River North did not disappoint! A huge wine list, and awesome lower level bar - perfect for people watching and trying a glass or two of wine. We proceeded to the upper level dining room where we were greeted immediately by what seemed like a team of servers who were all excited to see us. What a great feeling to get - to feel welcomed in a high class restaurant (a definate departure from what I have seen recently in some of the other establishments downtown). Food was great, I mean really great The Bone in New York Strip was massive, juicy, lightly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Choice of an 8 or 12 ounce filet (my lady friend went for the 8oz - still plenty) and she loved it. Mac and Cheese was out of sight, sauteed corn was beautiful, tasty, ans seasoned with just a touch of heat. I cant say enough about the Chocoate Lava Cake dessert - just do yourself a favor and get one. Service was crisp, educated, and actually fun. Our waiter answered all our questions and was there when we needed him, and left us alone when we needed it. Completely impressed, completely satisfied, completely and totally full when we left!
Report This ReviewI went here with friends. I do too, but I really love wine. Great wine list here! Wine is served at the right temp, unlike many other restaurants. Service was very friendly, and very professional. I will be back again and again!
Report This ReviewYes, this restaurant is in the same family as Outback steakhouse, which is an insult to Outback steakhouse. For this kind of money, I would think I would receive at least Outback level of service, well not at this location. The server appeared to be late for an appointment at least that is how it appeared when he bothered to show up at the table. The manager told us about the specials, another of the wait staff tended to our needs and brought out our food, which was completely over done from sitting under the hot lamp for so long that the dinner plate was turned into a hotplate, which continued to cook our fillets to almost a well done. The only time our waiter paid any attention is when the check was brought over, at which time he returned 3 times in 5 minuets to check for payment. I only wish he was that enthusiastic when actually waiting on us. And the prices. Look, I get it. I live in the city and you pay to play right? I get it. But, a $10.00 salad with iceberg lettuce? Really? True fellow scotch drinkers will understand this, $13.00 for Chivas Regal? $15.00 for 10yr Glenmorangie? Laphoraig, Oban or Talisker maybe, which was not on the list by the way, and you call this a steakhouse? Take my advice stay away from this place. There are so many better real steak houses around.
Report This ReviewFleming's is just another mediocre steakhouse. Overall the food was overseasoned and swimming in butter; and the service was at best average. We go to the city at least once a month for a memorable dinner and certainly will not return to Fleming's. It is your average "nothing to write home about" pricey restaurant.
Report This ReviewFantastic food, fantastic ambiance, fantastic service...just fantastic. Highly recommend!
Report This ReviewI've been twice, once for dinner, once for lunch, and the food was excellent both times. Husband and I both feel that it's the best filet, which is saying a lot for this town. Service is outstanding as well. The prices are high, and the only other negative I'd give would be the lack of lighting in the main dining hall on the second floor. But that's a personal issue, and it's common in a high-end steak house.
