Decent comfort food

I went in there on a late Thursday afternoon. It's basically a decent place if your looking for comfort food that is a step above a Denny's or a Golden Nugget. The place does reflect the local crowd of Lincoln Square. The interior is nice, and some of the tables are unique in shape because of the diagonal configuration of the building. The bottled beer is reasonably priced. I had the patty melt with blue cheese which was excellent. They give you a massive amount of homecut fries. A nice place to go to for lunch.

Terrible service

Terrible service. I went there this past weekend, and our waitress was in a terrible mood.
There were two waitresses working an almost empty bar, and they were not at all cordial or even in a semi-helpful mood.
Our waitress in particular needs to rethink her occupation of choice. She was very rude throughout interactions with us and others.
I will not be frequenting this establishment at any time in the near future, and I would not recommend it to others. I would hope management does a better job screening their applicants before they hire people who obviously need a personality transplant.

Good in the Winter, but Great in the Summer

I come here and always walk away thinking...can they do better? Food is good, service is adequate to good, and ambiance is ok. But I can say that in the summer time, this place is always packed!!! Great people watching spot and diverse crowd with a diverse selection of beer. I think they are usually understaffed because I saw 1 waitress handle a crowd of 10 tables by herself on a Saturday afternoon. If it were me, I'd say she was WAY too busy, but I wouldn't complain because she was able to check on us and get our food in a timely manner. I gave this restaurant a "good" rating because I usually don't leave disappointed, but it's normally a very memorable experience.

BAD FLOOR SERVICE

Our waitress was in a bad mood, responded arrogantly to my friend, and decided to not wait on us. There wasn't a single attempt in offering friendly service. I'm sure there are other places one can get some drinks and American food without the attitude.
