Great Time!

I have really enjoyed the many times I've visited. The food is good and the martinis are great!; the atmosphere is like going to party. I've never had a problem with the service and it's awesome that there's live entertainment every night for FREE! The piano can be a bit loud at times, but this is not a quite, romantic lounge, it's for Big Shots!

I went to Big Shots for dinner two times so I can say with certainty that their service is horrible. The first time I went was on a Saturday night and we literally spent 3 hours there. The music was so loud we couldnt talk. We wanted to leave so we could hang out somewhere to talk and get drinks that weren't so overpriced, but we couldn't get out of there all night!
The second time i went was a Wednesday night. The service was just as bad. I went on a double date and we all had to work the next day. We got there around 7:20 and the waiter didn't bring the check until 930!
The atmosphere is mostly older people, so being 23 we felt as if we were the youngest people in the room.
The food is okay, but extremely overpriced. I am a vegetarian and i could not find anything on the menu that didnt have meat besides a pizza. i ordered a $12 salad minus the chicken. all i got was some lettuce and dressing and they didn't reduce the cost.
Waste of alot of time and money!

Poor service

We invited friends from the city to experience a little of what downtown Arlington Heights has to offer. We decided upon Bigshots Piano Bar because of the reviews here. We arrived at 8:30 pm, had our drinks and entree orders in within 15 minutes, then waited an hour for our meals to be served. When they did arrive, all 4 of our entrees were cold. Not just luke warm either, but COLD. We notified our server, who barely apologized. He did not try to remedy the situation in any way, shape or form. Not only would I not recommend this establishment, but I am sad to say that I will not be a returning customer.

Big Shots---BIG SNOTS!

I've been here a few times before and it was an overall decent experience. I had family in town and wanted to do something different so we opted for this place. First off, the bartender (female) was extrememly rude, correcting me on the pronunciation of a wine in a very condesending tone. Secondly, we had reservations which we were actually 30 mintues late for. They did not hold our table. Understandable but we then stood there for almost 45 mintues waiting for a table (which there were open ones) and were told we had to wait longer. We ended up leaving and the hostess just gave us a look as we left without saying a word. Very dissapointing. They need to get their act together. THe place is also very, very small and the one piano player sucks!

Best Kept Secret of Arlington Heights
By suburban_dude from Des Plaines, January 23, 2009

Big Shot's is an awesome place to just hang out with friends for drinks or take a date for dinner. Every time I go everything is incredible! The wait staff and management is very attentive and the food is to die for. Depending on the time of the night you go, the atmosphere is different. Earlier is cozy and quiet with "rat pack" songs being played on the piano. Later in the night the place gets rocking and the crowd is normally singing along with the entertainer. Several times that I've been there the patrons just get up and start dancing in the aisles. This place is a gem and every time I leave, I look forward to the next time I visit.

Unhappy Birthday

This was probably one of the most disappointing experiences that I have had in a long time. We went to celebrate a friends bithday, to have some food, drinks and we thought, some sing along. We had 8 oclock reservations. Our table was set up and ready for 8 of us. First off, it was VERY loud, Im not talking about the music, but we had to yell to talk to the person across the table.. We put our orders in around 8:45. We did not get served our food.. (those of us who did get food) for almost 2 hours. The waiter was either very "in the weeds" or very incompetant. We finally decided that we were going to leave. The management staff was extremely RUDE and would not deduct the food that we had never received off of our bill. The mediocre food that we did receive was also very overpriced. If you want to have a fun night out with friends, steer clear of this place

Worth a shot

Great atmosphere, especially later in the evening. Nice pours and pleasant bartenders. Food is delicious too. I've been here a few times and the piano player gets redundant. Found I wanted to here juke box music for a change and to liven things up.

I went to Big Shot on a Friday for my birthday. They reserved tables for my group, sang happy birthday and even brought a little chocolate dessert. The entire night was a blast and once it picked up about 10:30, the atmosphere was fun and made for a great birthday! I definitely suggest checking Big Shots out.

best overall experiance!!
By big bob from chicago, July 8, 2008

I have been here many times. When they first opened things were a little shaky but now that they have been there for almost a year it seems they have there act straight. Live music with no cover you cant find anywhere...Many different performers. Get there early to listen to calmer music but as the night goes on the music gets more lively. With interactions with the piano man. Food is excelent and the whole atmosphere rocks!
