Bennison's Bakeries
5.0
Bennison's Bakeries has been making high-quality cakes, artisan breads and European-style pastries since 1938. The bakery was founded by Larry Bennison, who became known for his devotion to using fresh products, including buttermilk and cream, when other bakeries began taking shortcuts. All breads here are hand-crafted, using natural ingredients and lengthy fermentation time. Owned by the father-and-son team of Guy and Jory Downer since 1968, Bennison's remains committed to quality. Jory, a certified master baker, and his U.S. team won the the prestigious 2005 Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie (translates to "world cup of baking") in Paris, the equivalent of the Olympics for bakers.
