Trader Vic's: User Reviews
My husband took me to Trader Vic’s on Sat (6/27) to celebrate my birthday. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. I heard stories from my mom about Trader Vic’s as a kid and thought that it would kinda cool to check out where she and her friends used to hang when she was a 20-something girl on the town. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The food was outstanding and creatively presented. Even their bread and butter basket grabbed our attention with the inclusion of actual peanut butter instead of your traditional butter. I had the Beef Cho-Cho as an appetizer and had the chance to finish searing my kabobs with my very own hibachi. My husband had the Beef and Reef Teriyaki while I had the 9 spice chicken. Usually we talk and during dinner. We were so enthralled by the well seasoned meal that we were deemed speechless! If you’re looking for a well seasoned meal with island flair—Trader Vic’s should be at the top of your list. We’ll definitely go back.

Trader Vic's was a BIG disappointment! After many years of going to the Palm Springs one, we couldn't wait to try the Chicago one. Seven of us gave it a #3 out of 5. The restaurant was very nicely done, the food was O.K. and the service was not trained well. I hope it makes it in the Windy City.

Atmosphere, service, food - Trader Vic's has it all. While Super Bowl fans were munching buffalo wings, my family was celebrating my birthday at Trader Vic's. The kitchen and staff performed admirably and lived up to the hype that the reviews provided. It was a fun evening with great food. Recommend you give them a try. We'll be definitely going back.

This place is really great. It looks fantastic, very classy tiki style with great attention to detail, like bark wallpaper, avocado green booth seats and tikis from the original location. I was with a large party and we sampled a wide variety of menu items. Everyone loved everything, including the drinks and desserts. If you go, you MUST have a Polynesian Snowball for dessert! Highly recommended!!!
