This storied restaurant and Mai Tai lounge, formerly located in the Palmer House Hilton, works its Polynesian theme for all its worth. Look for tropical decor (including views of Newberry Plaza's glass-enclosed, plant-filled atrium) plus a lineup of retro island-themed cocktails and a menu highlighting offerings prepared in the signature Chinese-style wood-fired oven. Selections include "no chopstick" egg rolls; crispy monkfish curry with Thai basil and Japanese pumpkin curry; macadamia mahi mahi with wasabi mashed potatoes and orange-ginger beurre blanc; and a wood oven-prepped bone-in rib-eye.
