I'm originally from the Chicagoland area and you just can't get good Chicago-style pizza anywhere except at Pizzeria Uno's in Chicago. I travel to Chicago about twice a year and my first evening there I go straight to Uno's. It's a convenient walk from most of the northern downtown hotels and the 45 min wait is well worth it. They have individual sized pizzas now so you can munch on a fresh vegetable appetizer and then enjoy your pizza without leftovers. My only regret is that I haven't figured out how to get them shipped to California!

We loved Pizzeria Uno - great, deep-dish Chicago-style pizza in an authentic downtown atmosphere. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, and the cramped quarters were worth enduring for this excellent pizza. If you're not used to real deep-dish, beware: it's filling. After splitting a mozzeralla stick appetizer, my husband and I took half of our medium pizza home. Plan on only 1-2 slices each.
