Loved the food, service and atmosphere, but I just had a coke and they charged me for 2 when I got a refill ($2 each!) Really lame for a bar of this caliber.

This is one of my favorite places in Chicago -- with one of the best beer menus in the city and a knowledgable staff to help you choose among the brews. The food is also very good -- very good pizza, sandwiches, and great fries. I hear the pulled pork is amazing. In the summer, the outdoor area is a wonderful place to relax with a beer. One of Lakeview's best-kept secrets.

We have visited this restaurant three times, so we are not placing a one-off review. The ribs are exceptional. They have a smoky, spicy flavor that is better than most rib joints in the city. You can't miss the Mac & Cheese Duck Confit starter, which is just decadent. Tonight we tried the chicken with a white barbecue sauce, and it did not disappoint. This is a great place for a casual night out with friends. It is laid back and the service is not rushed; the knowledgeable staff will take its time to explain the beers and food options. It is a chilled-out place to linger over the micro-brew and imported all-bottle beer selection and enjoy yourself! It's like a sophisticated juke joint.

We heard the ribs were exceptional so we gave it a shot. They were awful. The ribs tasted like ketchup and vinegar. The cole slaw was also horrible and overwrought with vinegar. Everything was over salted. They even screwed up the baked potato. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Loved this place. Excellent food and a great beer list. The staff were very nice and helpful with menu suggestions. A great spot for a group of friends or a casual date.
Report This ReviewI enjoyed the outdoor patio. Their food rocks my socks and they always have a new beer for me to try.
Report This ReviewCoopers is my favorite restaurant. The incredible beer list--over 90 beers--can satisfy your whole group. And the food...is amazing! Lets just say that the only things that I haven't tried on the menu are the salads, because who wants a house salad when you can get a pulled pork sandwich!? I love love love coopers!!!
Report This ReviewIf I could give this place zero stars, I happily would. My second visit was highly disappointing. The waitress was very nasty and rude and only checked on us once. We waited 45 minutes for our food!! It was NOT busy either. There was no explanation as to why there was a delay on the food nor an apology. I believe that the food is okay, but way overpriced for what you get. Next time I will follow my first instinct and go to Schubas, it's always consistent there. Stay away from Coopers, unless you like being disrespected for below average food!
Report This ReviewI wouldn't go as far as saying "Borderline fine dinning" but the food was good. The beer list is awsome and why I'm giving it three stars. Definetly recomended for an after work drink, and decent dinner.
Report This ReviewOne of the best bar/grubberys that you've never been to. The food is borderline fine dining, but the atmosphere, staff, and beer list definitely has a more laid back neighborhood approach. The specials are sweet, and there are a couple of lookers there...I almost doen't want to give away this place. My wife and I say it's our little secret.
