Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba!: User Reviews
I never understand what people see in Tapas. 8-9 bucks for 3 pieces of scallops on a small plate. Next thing I know, I am eating bread again. Looking for the waiter in 10 minutes since I need to order more bread.
Wait a minute, that punch tasting drink is how much???
Tapas Joints are rip offs and I never fill myself up with normal tasty food, It is always bread.
And NO I am not a fat american who loves to eat Fridays or Chilis type of food. Actually I am quite skinny and quite into different cuisines.
Unless you want to spend 50 dolars for a meal, this is not your place.

So this place is not amazing but I've always had a good experience coming here. Most recently just came here last week for my birthday. Couldn't get a table outside (had a party of 9) even with reservation which was kind of disappointing. But the food was good as usual, even though I suspect it's churned out very quickly due to how busy this place gets. Sangrias that come in pitchers are kind of watered down with all the ice, I think next time I would just order a cocktail or wine. Overall it's a fun place.

Made reservation for Sunday night and the table was ready at arrival. The beef tenderloin with blue cheese was fantastic, as well as everything else we tried. Since I am not a sangria fan, I was pleasantly surprised as I shared a 1/2 pitcher of passion fruit sangria and really enjoyed it. The service COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER. The waitress made sure our drinks were always topped off, and that we always had fresh plates, but she was not overwhelming. We asked for recommendations from the menu and couldn't have been more pleased. Since it was our first time, as a courtesy we were presented the Butterscotch custard cream desert. In summary, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, have not a single complaint, and can't wait to return.

Its been quite some time I have not gone back to Reeba! I was quickly reminded of why that was by the greasy spicy potatoes, the water down sangria AND the overpriced food !!! I would recommend Cafe Iberico you will get a better deal for your money. Very Disappointed

This place is great but the cost was unbelievably high. You can spend $100 on two people without even realizing it. If that cost doesn't scare you away, though, you will definitely enjoy the food.

Ba-Ba-Reeba is loud, it's crowded, and it's soooo worth it! The food just keeps on coming, and rarely does a plate leave the table with even a crumb left on it! The menu is extremely diverse truly offering something for everyone! The staff is helpful and knowledgable, and there's always someone nearby to make a suggestion. The sangrias are both equally delicious, I prefer the white, but the red is also very charming. You will not leave hungry, or broke! The prices are very fair and worth every single penny for the quality of food served. The only downfall is that it's not a roomy place...don't expect to be able to rest your elbows on the tables or move your chair around too much, there just isn't room.

I've been wanting to go here for a couple years now and finally got a chance to go... only for it to end up pouring rain when we got there. Luckily the outdoor area is covered. We sat all the way on the edge, and remained dry the entire time. It was so much fun to try all the different food items and be outside during a summer storm. Our server was very informative about the menu and helped us pick out some great options. I will definitely come back and try the sangria with my tapas.

My husband and I went here for dinner last night for my birthday. When we arrived at 7:45 p.m., we were told by the hostess that the wait for a table outside was 30 minutes, and that there was no wait for inside seating. We asked her to put us down for inside seating. Here's the best part...45 minutes later we were seating in the "no wait" inside seating. She offered no apologizies. Other than that, the tapas were great. Our waitstaff was attentive, prompt, and polite. A word of advice - skip with white sangria, it leaves alot to be desired.

Though the waiter was friendly and courteous, the service was slow and erratic. We were seated in the enclosed patio which was extremely loud and noisy from the over-excited Lincoln Park crowd. Our friends in Chicago had not been there before, but had heard it was a trendy place. One of four tapas was finally delivered. After 15 minutes when we asked our waiter what the hold up was, the other three finally arrived. We ordered a paella for the table, and it finally arrived overcooked and dry. When I asked for the check saying that the food was poor, the waiter took his time in not only getting the check, but then in processing my credit card. There was no management available for me to express my displeasure.

My fiance and were visiting Chicago from out of town and were reccomended here. We were not dissapointed. Neat atmosphere w/ the Spanish them and art. Service was good. Food even better. And it really wasn't that expensive. I really reccomend Cafe Ba Ba Reeba for a relatively casual night out for dinner and drinks.
