My co-workers and I went here for lunch last week and had a great time. Food was great and service was even better!! I had the Italian Cobb salad and it was fantastic!! Definitely would come back and highly recommend it!!
Report This Reviewwe sat at a table for over ten minutes before a server arrived to even take a drink order. the wine glass and silverware were filthy. we waited forever for a pizza that was placed on the table with no plates to use. we had to find the server to get said plates, and she brought them in no kind of hurry. no one ever picked up any used plates or glasses from the table. then, we had to search for the server to get the bill and wrap the leftover pizza.. no manager ever walked around tables, and manage at door did not acknowledged our patronage upon our departure. Whatever happened to basic service? Especially in this economy???
Report This ReviewThis place has terrible service. You can go for 10's of minutes at times without a hello ( trust me I learned the hard way ) Do yourself a favor - just come to drink in the beer garden ( which is enormous ) and people watch. Perhaps you should order 2 beers at a time since the service is terrible. Stay away from the overpriced and over rated food.
Report This ReviewHave been going here for the last 15 years. Just went back after having moved from the neighborhood. I really miss this place, it really is the best. You can't beat the overall offering this place has. I miss it so much. BBQ pizza!
Report This ReviewMy husband and I are from the NW Suburbs and heard this place was near the Edison Park Metra stop. Every time we head downtown, we have to make a stop to eat here! It's especially great during the summer when we can sit outside in the huge beer garden. I'm a huge fan of the pizza, but every once in a while we switch it up and go for the pasta dishes. But seriously, TRY the BBQ Chicken Blast Pizza! I never imagined I would fall in love with a pizza that had a BBQ sauce base...yummy!!!
Report This ReviewThis place was fabulous! I went for lunch on my birthday with my boyfriend (he works close to there and says it always great). We sat outside in the HUGE beer garden, which had a fun and casual ambiance. We each got an order of the french onion soup, one of my favorites. I have to say, this is the BEST french onion soup I have ever had!!! And that's saying a lot, since I order it almost every chance I get. We also split the lasagna and tortellini, which were good. If you are looking for authentic Italian they will not meet your expectations, but if you are in the mood for Italian American food done well, these dishes will satisfy your palate and your stomach. The portions were huge and came with bread hot out of the oven. I really recommend this place- nothing lacking- attentive and prompt service, great food, good value and a casual yet classy atmosphere.
Report This ReviewLast night was the first time I've ever walked out of a restaurant. We sat for over 15 minutes and not once did a waitress stop by to give us water, take our drink order or even say "I'll be with you in a moment". We finally realized that we were wasting our time and walked out - leaving about 4 other unhappy tables there still waiting for some acknowlegement from a waiter (and judging by a deserted table I don't think we were the first ones to walk out). Service has never been great here, but last night hit a new low...
Report This ReviewFriday night, I had friends over at my house. We ordered our food at 6:30 and it didn't arrive until 9:30!!!!! I called there 3 times meanwhile and got reassured by the manager that it was on its way. Wrong. He used a 2 second power outtage as an excuse. Not once did anyone call me to warn me of the delay. He didn't even bother to follow up or send extra food or dessert. When the food finally did arrive, it was not the way we ordered it and most of it was tasteless. One of my friends hated her entree so much, she didn't eat it at all. What an embarrasment for me! They've not only lost me as a loyal customer, they've lost future customers in my friends. The only reason Moretti's is still in business is because of its location. They're definitely in desperate need of new management. Next time, I'm ordering from Nonno Pino's!
Report This ReviewYou know, service has always been bad at Moretti's Restaurant. I keep going back as there isn't much of a selection for restaurants around and they do have a nice beer garden. I even take our children for the New Years Eve party every year, but I am just done. The server dropped a plate on my 1 year old daughter's head, thankfully is was just salad. He was mortified. The manager on the other hand treated it as if it were just another day. No apology, no help cleaning her up...nothing. My husband PAID the bill (I can't believe we even got one) and took our daughter home. We have not been back since. I did complain to ownership and we were promptly sent a gift check but you know, it just doesn't do it. I hope they can get some management in there that will turn the service aspect around. You do that and you can have one of the best places in the neighborhood.
Report This ReviewThis had been a good place to go in the summer because of the huge beer garden. Unfortunately though, the service is now extremely poor. Our waitress took forever to even greet us and then took even longer to bring us our drinks; which were wrong and spilled on me. The food order was also incorrect. After speaking with the Manager about the poor service, he did buy us a round of drinks, but I had to negotiate with him. He was condescending and did not come up to our table once after speaking with him to see how we were doing. The waitress still took her sweet time and was rude. This was not an enjoyable dining experience! I would not recommend this place.
