Always fun and Tasty

We have going to Que Rico for years, and always think of it as a wonderful place for reasonable to above average Mexican meals, great margaritas and friendly service. It is a place that is family (kid) friendly, the outdoor area, though small is nice, and we have had a large group there (8 several times, and as many as 24 for a BDay gathering once), and have always bee treated with good food, drink and service. A great neighborhood gem you can count on time and time again.

Absolutely Awful

I cannot tell you enough about this awful restaurant. Food is completely bland, dining room is VERY loud, service was awful, management is rude.
Just a few highlights: Made reservation, were seated 20 minutes late. Asked for no rice in burrito, were told "no, the kitchen is too busy." Server did not refill sodas despite being asked to do so three times. Food was flavorless, meat was tough and overcooked. Entrees were served incomplete and we had to ask for what was missing. Then we were given a bill with a 20 percent tip included.... For only 5 people. We complained. The manager told us that it was our fault- no apology, nothing. We had to argue to adjust the tip, still being told that we were wrong. Then they would not divide it on two credit cards (!!)
There are so many other restaurants in this city - go somewhere else. If you want Mexican, this place is not worth a dime of your money or a moment of your time.

One of the worst dining experiences ever!

In a nutshell, the food was bland and boring, the drinks overpriced and hard to get, the service was poor, our bill was wrong, we were charged extra for using credit cards without anyone notifiying us... REALLY bad. We waited 45 minutes for drinks and a total of 90 minutes for our food. There was a power issue going on, however, they asked us to be patient because they would be serving food shortly. Okay, so 90 minutes later we get our food, have not yet received our second round of drinks, and to top it off, there were chicken bones and grissle in the food. The owner refused to do anything and actually called me insane. Lovely.

I LOVE this place! The decor, the food, the wine...ALL OF IT!! Service can be a little slow on the weekends, but that speaks to how popular Que Rico is - not to them having poor service. I have held at least four small celebrations there, and everyone has always had a GREAT TIME! I highly recommend Que Rico to everyone, and will continue to support this fine, fun, and fantastic establishment!!

Dont waste your time or money

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. We have never had service so bad, so slow or been treated so rudely. Never take your kids here (it took an hour and half), never order the pitcher of margueritas (at 22.50, you get 90% ice) and certainly don't bother complaining as they will confront you and your guests. We ran into friends there at the end of our VERY LONG visit (3 hours for a meal) who had the same experience the last two times. We have been customers for 7 years now and have always been satisfied but after our recent experience, I would never go back. Waste of time and money....

My wife and I went here and we were pleasantly surprised by this place. We went around 7 on a Saturday night and we were glad we had reservations. The wait staff was friendly and the drinks/food were delicious. We'll definitely be back.

We live nearby and are thrilled that to have this restaurant near enough for us to walk to. We really enjoy the food and unique drinks, and have even brought several groups of friends to eat there. I definitely recommend it, you should at least give it a try.

I stopped here for a late lunch last Saturday. The patio looked charming and I thought I'd give it a try. I'm sorry I did. The service was not great. The food was awful and the margarita was the worst I've had in this city or anywhere for that matter. The guacamole was bland and runny, with chunks of tomato & onions thrown on top as garnish. I ordered a top shelf margarita and I'm not sure what mixer they used but it was bitter. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass tacos for $15. When they arrived, they smelled fishy and tasted fishy, which led me to conclude that the fish was definitely NOT fresh. I ate two bites and asked the waiter to take them away. Service was slow but cheerful. I asked my waiter three times for a refill on water and did not get it until the end of the meal. I would not return and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Que Rico! is nice. Don't let these crazy reviews trick you into thinking otherwise. The food is pretty good and comparatively priced with other similar restaraunts in the area. The sidewalk seating on a nice saturday in the summer is actually quiet. It still seems like a great neighborhood spot for families or anyone passing through really. Bring your dog, bring your baby, and most importantly bring a smile because you never know when you might need one.
