Chef Paco's passion for cooking is amazing. He is so fun and personable and the food delicious. Margarita's and salsa are some of the best I've had. This is one of the best places in Oak Park to dine.

The owner is quite a friendly and colorful character with his trademark "OMG"s etc. The food is tasty, especially the moles and tamales, which I highly recommend. The food is made with fresh ingredients. It is not heavy or greasy. The drinks are tasty and different, also made with fresh ingredients. Some of our food was not hot enough (temperature-wise), which was the only disappointment.
I like the redecoration, but the back area is too bright; turn the lights down a bit.

I got a call one day from a friend in the area, telling about how I would love this new restaurant they had discovered. Sure enough, when I finally came to visit I was not disappointed! New Rebozo has the atmosphere and the friendly staff that makes for a truly unique dining experience. Chef Paco certainly lack no enthusiasm in describing his intricately designed dishes, and he has the quality to back it up. If you seek a one-of-a-kind taste sensation, put your faith into the special recommendations of Chef Paco, he will not lead you astray. His Cinco de Mayo special family recipe of barbacoa was the best dish I've had from a Mexican restaurant. Bring friends, sit out on the new patio, and throw back a few margaritas for an excellent dinner out on the town!

My girlfriend and I first went to New Rebozo about two weeks after they remodeled. We were looking for a new restaurant around the Oak Park area to check out and happened upon New Rebozo. The food, service, staff and Paco were all terrific. We were amazed at the enthusiasm and attention we received after arriving. Paco introduced himself, the restaurant and the night's specials in a friendly manner.
The margaritas and main dishes we had were excellent. The food was brought out quickly and it was obvious that great care and planning had gone into creating the dishes. Our waitress was very attentive and at the end of the meal Paco came out with a complimentary dessert for us to try, JalapeƱo Chocolate Ice Cream. He explained how it was made and we were floored by the taste and the kind gesture.
Overall, we have recommended New Rebozo to a number of friends and will continue to dine there, as it is a great restaurant and a guaranteed good experience.

Chef Paco's new digs can be best described with these three words: "Oh. My. God." We expected a makeover, but this very dramatic facelift has exceeded our expectations. The interior is still warm, cozy and charmingly quaint, but definitely more refined and sophisticated. As for the food, it has been consistently superb in the 6 years we've been visiting New Rebozo. The Fiesta Mole dish is unbeatable, and I personally can make a meal just out of Paco's phenomenal salsa, guacamole and chips. My husband and I first came to this place together while still dating. Now, our 4-year-old daughter considers going to "Paco's" a special treat. Congratulations, Paco, and the entire New Rebozo team! Muy bueno!!!

Our family is thrilled that New Rebozo has re-opened! We missed Chef Paco and company very much - nearly two months was too long! The restaurant looks lovely, the food is still wonderful, and the service is friendly. Very highly recommended! Take the kids - it is very family-friendly.

After reading the mixed reviews posted here, we were hesitant to try New Rebozo. So glad we did! We were treated like special guests and the food was fantastic! Chef Paco came out with a mole for us to try. We had the cheese enchiladas with a pumpkin seed mole. Excellent! Best enchiladas I've had. We also had tilapia cooked in a banana leaf with veggies. Also excellent. The margs were tasty too and a pitcher can go a long way. They brought us out a complimentary pumpkin flan for dessert. A nice gesture and sweet ending to a fabulous meal. If you live in the Oak Park area and haven't tried New Rebozo, you are missing out!!!

The food here is very good - a little bit upscale compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. My only beef is the price - it's really expensive for what you get. The specials can be $25-30 and I don't think the ambiance warrants that price tag.

Even though the chef uses fancy spices I am afraid he does not know what to do with them as the food is bland. The food came unusually fast but tepid. It seems as though the food was prepared in advanced and when served not warmed thoroughly. In essence, too expensive for the quality of the food. I don't mind expensive food but expect my money's worth.
