Excellent Mexican!

Went there for the first time this summer and have been back once again and this place is great. Fish tacos were excellent and also had a ceviche special that was wonderful. Flavorful and large margaritas and very friendly service. The outdoor patio is small, but so nice and comfortable. Highly recommended and will go back again and again!

My wife and I have always wanted to try this attractive looking little mexican restaurant - we visited on a Sunday night with our kids in tow and the place was completely empty at 8:30 pm. We were practically talked out of staying by the waiter who urged us to order quickly. We decided to stick it out. First question "what do you want to drink" and it went downhill from there. Shockingly, they had only dark beer as they claimed they were out of any
non-dark.... the waiter was very impatient- brushing off our questions from the menu - we ordered Tapiquena($22.00) and another beef dish Quebradilla , and Salmon Quesadilla to start ($7.95). The portions were very small, and without any color, flair, or spice - 1 small quesadilla with almost no salmon inside cut into 4's. The Meat dishes were in the bottom 10% of the over 100 Tapiquena's I've had in other restaurants. Totally unremarkable and served with canned refried beans and mushy, flavorless rice. A tiny ,less than ripe, slice of tomato was almost invisible next to a punchless mole topped enchilada practically void of cheese. A diet coke was half filled with ice and when I finished it in 2 pulls, and asked for a second, the waiter didn't bring me another diet coke in a new glass, he took the ice half filled empty glass and brought it back refilled but now filled to the top with ice. The sign even says" Fine Mexican Dining".

A glass of orange juice was obviously canned or frozen - terrible tasting stuff. We never saw another customer walk in that night and were never asked if we wanted desert. They were too busy cleaning the place and shutting the lights in the back of the room. We had a 2 year old who got restless but never once did the waiter offer him a treat - or attempt to get a smile from him. Just kept cleaning the place in his rush to leave. My wife, born and raised in Mexico thinks it was one of the worst meals she has ever had. Don't let the inviting exterior and attractive interior fool you, this place is drastically overpriced and the food is no better than any run of the mill mexican restaurant - actually it's worse. If you know Mexican food, you will never go back.

Bad Mexican Food
By spankmasterfunk from Old Irving, March 6, 2008

Me and my GF have driven by many times and decided to stop in on Wednesday afternoon. It was very cold inside, but thats not what bothered us the most. Our food was cold and also very expensive for what we got. I have no problem paying for good food, but man this stuff was horrible I had the pork tenderloin and my GF had the tilapia. bot served cold and prepared with no love or much care. Our salsa was ice cold too. The place and service was very nice.

Mostly empty for a weekend...

Mostly empty for a weekend early dinner, but the food was outstanding! Great guacamole. The best carne asada I've ever had. Not your typical Mexican at all - very nicely, freshly prepared and presented. Our server wasn't the nicest person in the world but she did get everything to us rapidly.

Can't wait to go back to have the carne asada again!

A friend and I were in the mood for Mexican one night and decided to try a new place via a search on Metro Mix and so we wound up at Las Cazuelas. I had never heard of it before but the food was delicious as were the margaritas! It was kind of quiet when we were there but don't let that discourage you...it ended up being a very pleasant experience and I will definitely return! I highly recommend to all you fellow Mexican-food lovers!
