This no-frills Mexican taqueria features traditional homemade favorites such as parilladas, chiles rellenos, burritos and tacos. Hand-painted landscape murals of Mexico adorn the walls of a room filled with bright yellow tables with butcher-block booths. Or grab a quick bite at a counter seat. In 2006, it was named one of the Top 5 tacos in Chicago by the Chicago Tribune, ranking second:
"For years we'd been hearing about La Pasadita but never understood why three restaurants with the same name sat within a block of each other. We don't care anymore, as long as they keep serving these jaw-droppingly delicious tacos ($1.85). Within minutes of our plopping down in a booth at this clean, bright fast-food spot, plump white paper packages arrived on our table. When we unrolled these neat bundles, we found exquisitely seared and seasoned skirt steak tucked into pliant, steak juice-stained tortillas and topped with sweet chopped onion and fragrant cilantro. The trio of deep red-brown salsa, green salsa and pico de gallo were all distinct foils--nutty, smoky and bright--for these beauties. When we caught a mouthwatering whiff of freshly seared skirt steak, we followed it to a counter near the grill, where a chef was carefully hand-slicing the meat for tacos."

The burrito was messy and yummy. Carne Asada was tasty, but chewy. The tacos were a little plain on their own, but delicous with the sauces served...
