Don't let the life-size shark perched atop this tucked away Mexican BYOB trick you into thinking it's just another gimmicky seafood restaurant. Food, namely mariscos (authentic Mexican-style seafood), comes first at this 'hood haunt owned by locals Alejandro and Diana Guerra. Corona-toting McKinley Parkers pack the place to nosh on La Palapa's specialties: ceviche, langostinos and handmade quesadillas. During summer months, the small stone parking lot out front is converted into an outdoor patio, covered with tables and palapa-style thatched umbrellas.
