The majority of the menu at this pan-Latin Edgewater eatery is Colombian, but there are also dishes from Cuba, Argentina and Mexico. Appetizers include choices like the spinach-and-mushroom stuffed empanadas with avocado hot sauce, and the arepas (griddle corn cakes) filled with bacon-wrapped shrimp and red pepper aioli (spiced mayonnaise). Meaty entrees include the churrasco, a grilled strip steak served with chimichurri (thick pesto-like herb sauce) and the Milanesa de cerdo, a grilled pork loin with a chipotle-guava glaze. Seafood specialties include the cazuela de mariscos, a sautéed stew of red snapper, shrimp, squid and scallops in a creamy tomato sauce. For dessert, try the flan with blackberry sauce, or the figs with milk custard ice cream and caramel sauce. The ambience here is relaxed in a casual-contemporary sort-of-way, laidback enough to be an a regular haunt, but unique enough for a nice date spot.
