We love this place. It's very basic inside, more of a diner feel rather than Mexican restaurant, but the food really stands out. The various preparations of skirt steak are all good, and the nachos are individually topped tortilla chips neatly laid out and presented, not a pile of chips with globs of toppings on top. Prices are great, and it's BYOB - great for a delicious yet inexpensive meal!

There is not much as far as ambience, but the staff is really friendly and accommodating and the food is really tasty. What's more is you won't have to pay a lot to get a lot. It's very easy to leave stuffed and have a small bill. We were recently in there with a group of five and had burritos with all kinds of extras -- and only spent $30. Love this place.

I was disappointed because of all of the good reviews led me to an average restaurant. The food was alright at best.

there is no comment!! just go ahead and this place you'll not regret it. everything's great, food, service and everything else. If they don't have it on the menu they'll try to make for you all you gotta do is ask. try them. you'll love them.

Best mexican food in the city, great value and the people are so friendly it's almost embarrasing...atmosphere could use a little work though.
Report This ReviewBoy, do I miss this place!I lived right across the street in the 90's...the best burrito (and torta) joint in the area...never greasy like many others...friendly service...always try to hit this place when I'm in town...
Report This ReviewThe quesadilla was the best I've ever had for the money. It was massive. You should go if you're in the area, but don't make the trip out there just for that.
Report This ReviewMy husband and I eat at La Amistad ALL THE TIME. We love it, people couldn't be nicer and the food is great. Hard to pass up on the enchiladas but I've been very happy with every item I've ordered on the menu. I've even had the pancakes and strawberry shake for dinner once - fantastic! Oh and really good coffee. We're planning a party soon and will use them to cater.
Report This ReviewThe skirt steak meals and the chicken quesadillas are really tasty. The salsa is hot and excellent.
Report This ReviewThis is one of the best authentic mexican restaurants in the city, hands down. The owners could easily make a profit by turning it into a more upscale place and adding alcohol, because their food is definitely good enough. However, changing the "counter diner" atmosphere would change the whole atmosphere and feel of the place. Great food- I usually eat there at least once a week!
