The folks behind Hackney’s Printer’s Row are also behind this Mexican spot just a few doors north of their burger-friendly South Loop eatery. Although Flaco’s (which translates to “skinny”) is a quick-serve, it's a bit fancier than your average taqueria. The Hackney's folks kept the building’s original maple and pine floors, used re-purposed doors as wainscoting and added arty flourishes such as backlit punched copper. The menu features six types of tacos (such as grilled skirt steak) priced at an afforable $2.25 each, plus choices such as burritos, quesadillas, tortas (Mexican sandwiches) and a taco salad.
