While you could be a bore and choose standard Mexican staplestacos, burritos, enchiladasat this Wicker Park spot (prounounced cow-BA, which means dark wood in Spanish), we say go for the specialty: Mexican parrilladas (mixed grills). The seafood grill includes langoustines, scallops, calamari, shrimp and a fish of the day, while the meat version comes with baby-back ribs, fajitas, skirt steak and chicken. Caoba's look is rustic, with contemporary flourishes such as flat-screen TVs—an additional draw for the late-night lounge crowd that comes margaritas and cazuelas, fruity Tequila-spiked punch blends.
