I visited Chicago and fell in love with CJB!!
By RoxyLA from Los Angeles, California, October 26, 2007

I live in LA near the SF Valley, I was visiting my sister who lives locally. She told me about CJB and how it's her and her husbands favorite local hangout... His art studio is just across the street. I was instantly hooked. What a great atmosphere, and the coffee is so delish as well as the food. I can't wait to revisit, so I can enjoy another cup of joe from CJB.

Consistently good service and wholesome, filling food. The only gripe is not one booster seat or child's chair available... but we manage, my son loves the soup! Cash only...

I just moved to Pilsen from the Nside, and I'll see it's my new spot. Everything, everything is delicious. The place itself looks like BelmontMeetsPilsen, but the Mexican hot chocolate and the Muy Yummy Licuados sign outside makes it totally unique. The staff is kind and professional, the art galleries are outside-the-box, and the White Satin Mocha is exquisite...

Today was my first time at CJB and I must say its a true neighborhood coffee house with great service. I sat at the bar, I wanted to see how the operation ran. I looked behind the bar it was super clean, which is a big plus for my return visit. I arrived around 10:30am a young man gave me a great welcome and a menu, the menu didnt have any breakfast sandwiches but they did have other breakfast items like bagles and muffins. I had coffee and toast, the coffee was great. My only dislike was I wasn't asked or told what type of bread I wanted for toast, not CJB's fault. Keep in mind this is a coffee house and not a breakfast joint. A cop came in and got coffee and spoke to other locals, the service was very consistant and no phony smiles or hello's. The staff takes care of the customers and by the looks of it the customers take care of the staff by returning time and time again. CJB has made a great and lasting impression on me, great job and keep up the good work you do for your customers.
