...not kidding. Don't let the size or the tight seating or the lack of reservations dissuade you from enjoying the wonderful food. Not to be missed! AND, great specialty margaritas too. I'm a local and probably do not frequent any other restaurant in Geneva, now that I experienced this one.

Best Mexican, Period
By KMS from Geneva, January 24, 2009

I love Mexican food and to have a gem like this in my home town is simply wonderful. The place is small. I counted 20 seats, but it varies. There is no room to wait, so we usually put our name on the list and head to the Urban Grill two blocks away for a drink. They really pack you in, sometimes you share a table with strangers. There is upbeat Mexican music and it can be quite loud with so many people packed into a small place. Start off with the special guacamole and a margarita or mohito. The food is upscale but the price is not. My favorites are the fish tacos and the signature dish, Bien Trucha. The waiters are attentive and always there when you need them. We found out tonight they are expanding into the vacant store next door. That should double the space, but I have no doubt the wait will still be the same. And well worth it!

Great food, but you'll need to wait for it

I have been to this restaurant about 7 times. Every single time the food has been exceptional. If not for the exceptional food, I would not continue to return to this establishment. The anbience is just okay, what detracts heavily from the experience is the small size of the facilities. Seating is minimal and customers and wait staff bump into diners frequently. I could even deal with that, except that there is NO PLACE to wait for seating. The staff will take your cell phone number and call you phone when a table is ready, but tell you if you do not immediately present yourself upon getting that call, your table will not be held. With long wait times and no where to wait inside the building, this is unreasonable boarding on rudeness to patrons. In addition, they do not take reservations, so don't bother calling ahead. We came in one evening, told them we had 4 people. Although a table was there and available, until our 2 addtional diners arrived (they were parking the car), they would not seat us. Another couple came in and they seated them and took the table we would have been given, thus we had to wait for a table. Once we finished our meal, because there were people waiting for tables, the wait staff hovered around obviously trying to get us to leave so they could seat others. This made for a less than relaxing meal.
Again, let me stress the food is excellent. Portions are wonderfully sized, taste is always dead on perfect. Textures and presentation and wonderful. I continue to patronize this restaurant for that reason, but they need to learn how to deal with customers less rudely and appreciate their success or it may be fleeting.

Amazing Flavors and Dishes
By claritymh34 from Batavia, September 20, 2008

This is the best Mexican food I have ever eaten! The unique flavors and dishes that are usually not found at other Mexican restaurants made this my top pick. I loved the atmosphere! Geneva is such a friendly town and this area is great for Bien Trucha. Tables were asking others what they had ordered and you truly felt like you were at a small-town dive. I ate there two more times within a week after I tried it for the first time! Definitely recommended to everyone and it was so great to see a new restaurant doing well!

WOW!

Absolutely delicious! Everything from the margaritas to the guacamole to the tacos was unique, beautifully presented and fresh. I took my family from out of town here, and they were absolutely blown away. From the outside, this place looks like nothing special, but once inside, you are transported to a whole new world! I loved every sip and every bite!

Great food, great drinks (the Margaritas are amazing), and equally great staff. We have tried everything on the menu and it's all good. I wish that people would stop talking about this place so that it would be easier to get a table.

My husband and I decided to give a new local restaurant a try and were in the mood for Mexican cuisine - I never expected such a wonderful, authentic-tasting and fresh meal. We enjoyed our meal so much that I had to spread the word. Do yourself a favor and check out this restaurant - you won't regret it!

Better Mexican than Downtown!
By jenndeniz from jenndeniz, March 20, 2008

This is a great find! The food is absolutely amazing and very authentic. Great drinks (I recommend the margaritas or the mojitos) as well as tacos and tortas. If you like spicy try the shrimp tacos. I also suggest the steak torta and they have amazing guacamole. Although it is tiny (5 tables) the atmosphere is cute and they play great music. Worth the wait. We usually walk over to Urban Grill and have a drink and they will call your cell phone when your table is ready. 5 stars!

Jump on the Bandwagon!

Okay, apparently everybody likes this place as much as I do! The service is great, our waiter was so charming and helpful. The small portions are tapas-like. Very unique, fresh, delicious, beautifully presented dishes. Each dish was better than the last. This is NOT your typical Mexican fare! Don't expect a big platter with shredded lettuce/refried beans/rice on it.
