Former Mundial Cocina Mestiza chef Kate Garcia and her friend Mohammed Djeddour, owner of Tassili, a Northwest Side coffee shop, are behind this carryout- and catering-focused spot located on the edge of Albany Park. The duo's ecclectic menu melds Djeddour's Algerian heritage with their shared interests in Mediterranean and Moroccan flavors to offer a wide range of prepared dishes, some designed to be reheated at home and others hot and ready to go. Look for tagines, Algerian flatbread sandwiches, couscous, homemade soups and more. Djeddour's Algerian sweets are a breakfast highlight, and the shop opens early on weekends just so folks from the neighborhood can pick them up before prayer.

By JenSK from Old Irving Park, October 24, 2009
We have tried Zebda a couple of times with great results. The food is delicious - the tandoori chicken sandwich is huge but you'll want to finish ...
