Great food: low regard for customer experience

The food was good but the staff was cleaning the floors while we were eating and the smell of chemicals overwhemed the smell of food. This is unacceptable and I will never visit this place again! How can there be such a complete disregard toward customers who are eating??

My family and I had high expectations based on previous reviews. Out of 10 dishes we ordered, I would order only 3 if I ever return--the garlic potato salad, tiger shrimp and beef brochette. Other notes: I won't order the cold veal because I didn't like the consistency or the sauce (I usually love veal). I also won't order the breaded oysters, but then again, I prefer them raw. Our sangria also had shavings of fruit, more like a garnish, as opposed to the usual chunks seen at other tapas restaurants. Service was a little slow at first, took us a while to order, but for the most part, friendly.

We asked our waiter about dishes without onions since I am allergic. The chef, Andy, came immediately to our table & asked specifics re our food desires. We asked him to be creative. He smiled & said "no problem, it'll be my pleasure". Neither my husband/I had ever eaten such delicious food! Each dish was completely different & terrific! Andy checked on us throughout our meal, as did our attentative waiter. We were delighted! Looking forward to our next dinner @ Tapas Gitana! Thanks for making us aware of this fantastic restaurant!
