Istanbul Restaurant

I have eaten here three times with both friends and family, Everyone enjoyed it greatly. The chef owner (?) appeared each time and asked how we enjoyed it. The staff was both prompt and friendly. There is another Turkish restaurant in my neighborhood that was a regullar of mine, but the food quality has diminished over time. Istanbul now fills the gap. The decor is simple, but attractive. I will continue to eat there on a regular basis.

We will definetly be back wish more people knew about it so the do well.

My fiance and I visited the restaurant with high hopes and we left a bit disappointed. There was really nothing about the restaurant that created a Turkish feel besides the food on the menu and that wasn't even entirely Turkish. The waitress wasn't too knowlegable about the menu... the music was played very low and more of a European techno type sound. There was really no warm ambiance to the restaurant. The food was pretty good however my kebab wasn't served on a stick... just didn't seem authentic which is what we had our hearts set on. We wanted to feel like we were in Turkey for the evening.. Istanbul Restaurant didn't quite deliver.

Thanks Chef Yasar for opening a new Turkish place again and best of luck. I missed the cozy atmosphere since the Demir Cafe on Lincoln Ave. I am sure you will have your following and embraced in your new place.
