18 North is by far the Best Restaurant here in the Fox Valley!!!! My friends and I went there for dinner and drinks and had the most wonderful time. The food was incredible, and the server was very attentive and fun.The minute we walk in the door we felt very Welcome. After dinner we went down to Doc's Martini and Piano Bar for drinks and were pleasantly suprised to find free live entertainment. That guy play the piano was GREAT. and so were the drinks.
We will be back and bring our friends. Thanks 18 North for a great evening..

What a horrible horrible evening! Everything started off well enough...we were seated promptly and our server appeared attentive. After the first 10 minutes everything went to hell in a hand basket.
Our server was ditzy to say the least....the food took at least on hour to arrive - and was nothing to rave about. What worse is it seems the math skills at 18 north are sub par...since they didn't know how to add nor how to subtract from out check. We did half cash half cards...which should be easy enough for any restaurant. Not this one! After multiple attempts the manager - who could not have been more rude or abnoxious...and seemed especially math handicapped- still couldn't get it right and had the nerve to give us attitude.
The ambiance is very disappointing. One would think that a restautant housed in a gothic-esque old church should be a bit more romantic. It's not. Instead they opted for bright lights and crap fake trees....ummm since when did candlelight go out of style? Oh wait, it didn't it's just that 18 North completely and utterly lacks all style sophistication and class.
I wil never ever go back and will recommend that everyone I know opt to go to the many other GOOD restaurants in St. Charles.

We have been there several times and every time we come out with nothing but good things to say. The food was wonderful, wine list was good and reasonably priced. Our total bill was $130 with wine, drinks and dinner and dessert. Service and atmosphere are very nice and welcoming. The musicians are ok, some are better then others, but fun to listen too. Truly enjoy this restaurant. A must go to !

The atmosphere is elegant but unpretentious. We were happy with the varied wine list. The crabcake appetizer was delicious; tempted by the Coconut Shrimp Tower. Her Petite 6 oz. Filet, served with rice and broccolicini, was perfection, encrusted with Bleu Cheese neither bland nor overpowering. I selected the special, a mouth-watering sirloin covered with Saganaki cheese flamed tableside with roasted potatoes and Fried Spinach. The delicate leaves must have been flash-fried; crisp, thin, and not a bit wilted (a delicious fun side we both enjoyed). The dessert menu included a wonderful dark-chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse and Grenache, which we shared. Doc's Martini and Cigar Bar is where we were able to smoke (no smoking on the main level). Doc's is cozy and comfortable; the air-systems never allowed a wisp of the cigar smoke to leave. Dinner, appetizer, dessert and wine $100.
