my team and i stumbled upon jake's during a business trip, and became "regulars" for the week we spent in chicago. it was by far one of the best bar/grill places i've ever been to!
Report This ReviewI've enjoyed Jake Melnick's a number of times - it's definitely good for a quick meal, a chill bar night or watching sports. However, what really surprised me was their Thanksgiving buffet today. I was about ready to give up on my search for food and go to McDonalds, when a google search revealed that Jake's was open. The staff was nice and accommodating - letting me take buffet food to go so that I didn't have to sit by myself. And the food is GREAT. I'm so pleased.
Report This ReviewI was at Jake Melnick's for a rehearsal dinner in late October and the overall experience was extremely poor. Drinks were very slow to arrive since only one waitress waited on the 30+ people in our party. Plus, my steak sandwich was awful. The meat tasted like a piece of leather rubbed in some charcoal. My wife's flatbread pizza was fair at best. It's about as poor a dining experience as I've ever had. They won't get a second chance from me.
Report This ReviewI found exactly what I was looking for at Jake's. I have been there a few times over the past couple months and whether it was a weekday or weekend, I found a fun, diverse crowd of people... anywhere from age 21-40 and people that didn't look like clones of one another (like so many other bars in the city). It has been a nice change of pace to see all different types of peple in one place. Beyond that, the food is always great and the staff actually does their job well. I'll be back again and again.
Report This ReviewThis place is good and bad. I've been stopping in every couple months for the last year, so its been good enough that I've come back, but the bar had a really bad smell. The bartenders are good sometimes...I feel like they let just about any body bartend here. Hopefully you get Tex or Brandon. The patio is great in the summer, the indoor patio is a little disconnected in the winter though. This place is great for a Tuesday night, but for the weekend I would go somewhere else.
Report This ReviewThis place is fantastic! They have one of the best beer collections I have ever seen! 99 total, and they're not all NASCAR fuel. Unibroue, Chimay, Flying Dogs, this place has something for anyone to drink. The bartenders know a lot about the beer too. They also do an open mic on Tuesday nights, lots of funny comedians to check out. Appartently they do it every week.
Report This ReviewI like Jake Melnick’s. Great food, especially for a bar. Friendly servers and bartenders who are there when you need them, but who aren't hovering. The place is not trying to be trendy or sleek, it’s simply a sports bar with lots of TV and a comfortable atmosphere. It feels like a step up from other sports bars in this city, where someone could puke on your shoe at any moment. Good stuff, I like it.
Report This ReviewI love this place because you can always get in here. It is rarely packed, unless of course, it's football season. They have great bar food; nachos, burgers, etc. I have never been dissapointed when I've gone there.
Report This ReviewThis place is just ok. Went here two Mondays in a month and both times they were out of pinot grigio. The nachos are decent but the other time we tried flat bread pizza and the cheese wasn't even melted. All around it's decent in a pinch but I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone.
Report This ReviewWe had an amazing time at Jake Melnick's Corner Tap. Super friendly servers and bartenders and awesome food. There were sports on every TV. Talk about bar heaven! Even the music was great. Can't wait to go back.
