Fattoush, named after the famous Lebanese "moistened bread" salad, features appetizers like baba ghanouj, a dish of pureed eggplant with tahini, olive oil, lemon and garlic, and tabbouleh, with chopped tomatoes, mint, and toasted cracked wheat. Traditional entrees include shawarma, a Middle Eastern version of the gyro, in both beef and chicken, and kibbeh, a dish of ground beef, onions, pine nuts and cracked wheat served with pita bread. Specialties such as mdardara, a vegetarian dish of lentils and rice cooked with traditional herbs and topped with thin slices of sauteed onion, round out the menu. Lebanese coffee, a strong brew mixed with cardamom, and hot mint tea are the beverages of choice.
