There are tons of Korean restaurants around Chicago, and I went to several of them. Of the restaurants I visited, Woo Chon is by far the best in terms of food and service. The waitress was very kind when I asked her for recommendations, and there was plenty of food for what I paid. The taste is wonderful; it cannot be compared to any another local Korean restaurant. I would have to recommend Woo Chon for anyone in the Chicago area. Try it, and you too will think that Woo Chon is superior to all restaurants.

I went to this resturant based on the review and my co-workers recomendation. I had a fantastic time, I never had Korean food before.The waitress was very helpful by giving us a few good choices. The food was delicious and the service was great.

i went here based on the 4star rating that most people gave. to me food and value are the key ratings. so i had a certain level of expectation that wasn't met.

food: entrees were good. the side dishes were not very good. san gab has much better selection.

value: paid too much for what we received. when compared to other korean places, you didn't get a bang for your buck. but you didn't get hosed either.

ambiance: it's average compared to her mom/pop korean places.

service: overall service was good/attentive, but perhaps because of language issues the waitress woudn't let us order the duck, and we ended up with something not as good. so i can't give an average rating because of this.

I went there for the first time just for carry out. It's a bit tricky to find. They are located behind the little strip mall on California/Lincoln, behind the video store and grocery store. Ordered Kimchi Jigae and Kalbi to go. Wow, the portions were huge, especially the panchan(side dishes). They actually had to put in into a box! Usually, at other places, I can carry out the same order in a single carry out bag. I wanted to try something new. What a great find. The service was excellent and very friendly, and ofcourse, great food. They speak English as well so I 'd recommend this to everyone.

As a Korean-American, I am always looking for good Korean food in Chicago and Woo Chon is the BEST Korean galbi restaurant in Chicago. The service is great and they are really helpful and friendly. The portions are huge and they give lots of different pan-chans (appetizers). The bbq galbi is excellent and this is the only restaurant I go to for korean food.
