Tsuki: User Reviews
I tend to be hesitant to try different sushi restaurants, since many of them are hit or miss. However, I've been a loyal customer to Tsuki for several years and I can say it's one of the best in the city. I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews, everytime I go there, the service is excellent, food is delicious, and ambiance is fantastic. I'm partial to tuna dishes and the spicy tuna is delicious! Dishes are reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the city and the portions are just right. Definitely a must try.

I went to Tsuki this past Saturday night and had a great experience! From the trendy contemporary decor to the amazing food everything was amazing. I will definitely be going back, the sushi was fresh and the non-sushi entree dishes were delicious as well, definitely worth a visit!

Ok, so I love sushi. I really love sushi. I love sushi so much that at my last physical my doctor told me that my mercury levels were high. Why, you ask, IT'S ALL THE SUSHI I EAT!!! The sushi at Tsuki is awesome. When you go you must try the hamachi carpaccio, the oyster shooters are hands down the best shooter I have ever had. Now, lets talk about the tuna avocado nigiri. GREAT!!! GREAT!!! GREAT!!! The fish is always fresh when I go. The staff are great. Very helpful and attentive. The last time I went it was their all you can eat. OMG!!! GO TO TSUKI!!!

This is my favorite sushi place in Chicago. The food is great! I always order Sea Bass Cartoccio and Crazy tuna rolls: they are outstanding. Everything is fresh. The quality has been slipping slightly but it is still the best place to enjoy sushi. The bar area is super cozy and relaxing. Overall still a winner!

After hanging out at the Hideout Block party some friends and I decided to go for sushi at Tsuki. The food was great- maki rolls were fresh and the gyozas were to die for. You have to try the shrimp tempura roll! But the most memorable part of the evening was chatting with our server. Not only was he prompt and responsive, he was also a great sport with our exuberance and questions about Indonesia. Thanks Victor!

The other reviews mention a fishy smell. They are correct. It's a fresh fish smell, but it's still present. You don't notice it after a few minutes. That said, everything we ordered was fantastic. The smoked duck nigiri is amazing, as were the green tea buckwheat noodles, the hot crab salad, and this cool beef tenderloin thing that you cook at the table. It was all tasty, reasonably priced, and they have a variety of sake which is served however you like it. I'd go again.

and I'm glad it was here! Went for the Weds. special so got to try many different items, cooked & raw and I enjoyed most everything. Staff was very helpful explaining the different kinds plus courteous and prompt. Overall great experience and I feel well prepared for my next sushi experience!

This restaurant is trying too hard to be trendy. What is with the open space in the front and the tables crowded in the back? The maki was boring and the waiters rude. All in all, i was extremely disappointed.

This place was gross. I walked in and it smelled like rotten fish. Not something I want to walk into when im going to eat service. The manager was not friendly. The service was fine, but I will not be dining here again. And I would advise you should not eat here either. Its cheesy with all those advertisements for their specials. Nothing was good about this place.

food: sushi was solid
ambiance: very hip urban place. also they played great 80s music; so gotta love that.
service: very good service - attentive, nice.
value: they completely fail here. i had 9 pieces of sushi - no drinks. and paid $50!! the sushi was not great enough to warrant that much for 1 person. they need to do better.
overall, would not recommend. there are other great places for 1/2 the price. try matsuya!
