I have lived near sushi o sushi for years and never bothered to go in until a couple months ago. I regret missing out on this place for so long! I've probably eaten it at least 8 times since. My husband and I keep challenging ourselves to find better sushi and we can't. Every time we go somewhere else, we're like, "it's still not as good as sushi-o!" And we order in most of the time too. The Armitage roll is to die for. The volcano roll is divine as well. I really haven't had any bad rolls there. The ambiance leaves a bit to be desired, but the sushi is worth it. It never disappoints.

great people with great sushi

The sushi is great, it's bit of trendy and traditional. Their specialty is Armitage roll with chief "special sauce". Andy is the chief and he's really great. He's not an amateur, he knows what he's talking about and he is also very funny and enthusiastic. The staff is all friendly and makes me feel comfortable in here. They have daily specials, so gotta try that. I went with friends and we tried Sake Bomb (special Japaneses alcohol), and not only we get the drinks, but we get the entertainment as well. The place is not your usual let's try sushi samples, but this is fun creative and friendly place. It's a hidden gem place that you should try at least once.

Great place for sushi connoisseurs.

Quite possibly the best sushi in Chicago. The chef/owner's special rolls are amazing and can't be found anywhere else. If you only order the boring California roll this place isn't for you, but if you like quality sushi at a decent price you will love this place. Plus the staff is the most friendly in the city.

Sushi was amazing, espacially the crunch rolls, but service was horrible. Waited over 45 minutes for a few rolls when there were only 6 people in the whole restaurant...and they barely apologized. Still worth a visit, just not in a rush.

while I dont care much for the atmosphere-its rather small and cramped-
The sushi is AWESOME! They have the best choices of maki, and they are soo soo good. I really love the sushi here-but I did not enjoy the entrees.

Not the best name, but this is great sushi. I am a sushi lover and have had my favorite places until I came to Sushi-O-Sushi and nothing compares anymore. Service was great- complimentary appitizers and desserts don't just set this place aside; staff is very friendly accomodating. Food - well WOW! You get so much for your money and the unique rolls are so tasty. Negri pieces are so fresh and melt in your mouth. (and they seem to be always consistent) I have been reccomending this place to all sushi lovers- as it really is unique and more than satisfies that "I want good Sushi" feeling.
(sadly enough- I dream about this sushi place--makes my mouth water just thinking about it)

overrated- if you want great sushi try New Tokyo on Broadway or for EXCELLENT SUSHI TRY Kuni's in Evanston- Sushi O Sushi is overpriced (especially when they "accidentally" charge you $70 as opposed to $7 for an appetizer that doesn't even come before the check, mediocre service, and when it comes to sushi- bigger is not always better.
