This was my first and last time at OYSY. When I told the waitress that I want my food for to go she dropped the fork on the floor and then she put it back on the plate, laughing with the other 5 waitresses standing by the bar and staring at us. The tip time came and she told us (so we know) that it is customary in US to tip the server and it is rude for a customer to leave less than 15% tip! Probably because we were speaking a different language she thought we might be tourists, but so you know, tourists, it is NOT customary in US to leave a tip for a bad service or a rude server.

Sushi is all about the freshness of the fish, the way it has been cut and presented. Oysy is a contemporary unfussy almost cafe style restaurant. The bamboo banquettes and tables have a very modern feel. The food is very much the same way. You get a menu plus a sushi order sheet, where you simply indicate how many pieces or rolls you want. I have eaten at both Oysy branches numerous times, the fish is fresh, the sushi well made. If you are looking for funky rolls, Oysy is not for you. But if superb food quality is what you are looking for at a reasonable price, this is the place to go for great sushi.

The food here was great. The service was unacceptably bad. They screwed up our reservation, getting the time and other details wrong. They were slow to check on us. Entrees came out at wildly different times. And they would not accommodate a simple split check on a large party. When we protested, they were snotty. I saw the waitress and the hostess standing a distance away, glaring at us.

I have been to Oysy (multiple locations, although SL is my favorite) and I love it. The food is always tasty, fresh and beautiful and I love their outdoor seating in the summer. Service is usually good, and prices are good for high-quality sushi. My only complaints are that the chairs are a little uncomfortable and they keep the air temp too cold!

I haven't had Oysy in a very long time and we decided to try take-out - my new favorite sushi place! The maki is just so fresh and flavorful, and compared to some other popular sushi places the prices were reasonable for the portions (which is a huge plus). While I personally do not like the interior of this restaurant as the chairs/benches are extremely uncomfortable and the place is a bit sterile for my tastes, the food is top notch.

The sushi is great by far, but it takes forever to get an order. Friday and Saturday dining is out of the question, as you will wait at least 45 minutes for a table. The hostess isn't very clear as to how she determines 45 minutes. There's no build up from 15 min wait or even 30 min wait. It's just a 45 min wait to start. Wierd! Anyways, the food is great if you can get it or if you get a table. The best time to try it is during the week night when there are way less tourists in the area.

I live just a couple block away from the restaurant, but this was my first time dinning in, it was a great experience. Before I went to this restaurant, I read the review on the metromix and I doubted myself if I should go to this restaurant. The service was quite good. It would be better if my waitress could recommend the today specials, and the signature dishes, but the overall service was very attentive and friendly so I really enjoyed the food and the service.

I have been there a few times because it's close to my condo and good sushi but the service has always been terrible, and beleive me i am not the only one I knopw that will not go back do to the lack of service. Last time they had the nerve to tack on 18 % gratuity when we had 3 adults and two children and the waitress had the worst attitude. Needless to say i will not go back....

I've only been here for lunch but LOVE their cute little lunch box speical. The sushi has always been fresh, great meat selections (the salmon is fabulous) and the tempura shrimp a real treat. The decor' is great - industrial, lots of light, great view of the park...definitely try this place!
