The restaurant was out of the drink that I wanted, the salad and several kinds of sushi that we wanted on a Wednesday night. They were not even apologetic about it.
Report This ReviewThis place was so expensive that we sat down, got some water, looked at the menu...laughed then walked out. 2 pieces of basic sushi for 7-9 dollars. Not rolls, PIECES.
Decor is minimalistic and staff are like robots. Glad I didn't stay for the bill.
Report This ReviewFood was good, fish very fresh. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by a waitress who seemed to have never waited on a table in her life, a manager who didn't know how to remedy the situation, and a kitchen out of 4 VERY common fish. I would not return.
Report This ReviewMove over Japonais (nightclub?)and Mirai (used to be great), I found the best sushi spot in Chicago! Creative maki rolls and fresh fish and great creme brule, excellent in all respects. Great Service (Darlene)- you should definetely ask for her if you can. Will be back.
Report This ReviewI just read in the paper about Bex as best bartender and Meiji as best Sushi spot in Chicago! Wow! They are right on about both!
Report This ReviewIncredible variety of sushi, and not a dud served. Fatty salmon and fatty hamachi were spectacular, but so are the prices. Very expensive for sushi -- a dollar more a piece in many cases than more low key spots. I would love to go again but will need more rich friends.
Report This ReviewThe best sushi I've ever had in Chicago. The fire dragon roll was absolutely perfect. Sake was excellent also.
Report This ReviewI went and had a great time at the bar. The bartender was so friendly i decided to eat dinner at the bar with friends.
Report This ReviewI took my wife here for her 31st birthday and it was a great idea. The sushi was excellent and the service was 1st class. We were asked at least 3 times if everything was to our liking (and they were sincere about it). The atmosphere is upscale and trendy, but not obnoxious. I liked it a lot better than Japonais and it was cheaper too.
Report This Reviewyou need a new manager to hire proper waitstaff. unpleasant. This place was once great but many of the faces i saw in the beginning are no longer there. That was a different time, a better time. Service is just as important as the food.
