next to avec/blackbird, meiji is not overcrowded and has really good/unique rolls. all 3 of the rolls I tried had seedless jalapenos on top, which was amazing...I love spicy! I will definitely be back.

I dont know what the other reviewer was talking about!! I was just there on Feb 16th with my boyfriend. We had to wait 15 mins because it was full house. Service was very attentive. I feel very welcome. The sushi there is phenominal. I love their signature maki, especially white dragon and high roller. You just have to go there and you'll see what I'm talking about. I really recommend this place.

we went for a celebration and were the other people in the place besides what looked like the owner and a few of his friends- who treated us like we were completely intruding on his space- complete jerk- no wonder your place is empty!

I also ate at Meiji on 6/24 and didn't think the sushi was "fishy" at all! We had a wonderful experience - great wine, perfect tempura and fabulous, fresh sushi. If you have to choose between Japonais and Meiji, go to Meiji! Meiji has a cool, laid-back atmosphere without the pretentious attitude and super high prices of Japonais.

We went here on 6.23.07 and we do not understand what the hype is about go to Ra, Coast or Mirai, don't waste the time. Suishi was fishy

The ichigo maki is now my favorite roll in the city. Fantastic service as well. Decor very cool and chic; definitely planning on bringing my wife here for our next date night!
